Hi,

I'm at the stage where I have to fill out the affidavits of support..I don't make enough...so I'm gonna need a joint sponsor...

The only person I have is my brother who will make enough to be able to be a joint sponsor starting July he just turned 18 in April n didn't make 30 thousand in the past years but he will starting July so is that enough? ...is it acceptable?

I also work but I don't even come close to making 30 thousand a year

Its been a year since submitting I-130 and were still in two different countries :sleepy:

If he has no dependent and is only him then he should be making at least 19,662 in order to qualify as joint sponsor....your brother household size will only include himself and your spouse = 2 according to the poverty guidelines he should be making at least 19,662 or better. Hope this help!

He is going to need proof he makes that much Since he hasn't even started the job yet you will need to wait until he has at least several months of pay stubs to prove his income. He will also need a letter from his employer stating how much he makes, how long he has worked there, and that it is a permanent job. Even then it may not fly since he just started the job. Do you have anyone else you can ask?
