Outrage over Obama sing along

God forbid you should look this kind of thing up yourself. <_<

God forbid you would notice that that's not evidence of anything, that's just more outrage from those who enjoy being outraged. When and if you actually manage to find anything that actually explains how and why these kids were singing this ditty, feel free to post it, but until then, I will pour more scorn on this pathetic attempt to suggest that the school system is out to indoctrinate little kids into becoming Obamabots. Oh, and laugh at those who believe this has political meaning

Fake outrage. I'd wear some stronger underwear if I were you. Probably some Depends.

A bit of advice. You should really learn to use the quote function here. It's hard to tell who you're referring to when you say "if I were you"

I forced myself to watch the video and actually made it through the whole thing without puking at the sight of Glenn Beck. That said, it's pretty disturbing that they're teaching kids this stuff, especially less than a month after the guy is inaugurated. I'm also against them making kids recite the pledge of allegiance though.

Who is Glenn Beck?

why don't you like the pledge of allegiance being recited? Most countries do it, I think. One nation. With Liberty & Justice for all. Some good words to live by, right thar.

I reckon anyone can change any song and make it say what they want. But to put any leaders' name in a song that was meant to pay tribute to God... that just smacks of blasphemy, IMHO. And I am not much of a religious person.

That's your problem really. Have you got a point or was the above supposed to have some meaning.

If I were you I'd quit while I was behind.

When it turns out that this ditty was written by a six year old, where will your outrage go? Toward the six year old for being six and not being a musical genius?

Noone questions the lack of context in the media for things like this. There is an agenda to be promoted and this can be used to do it. The audience are uncritical and like being told when to be angry.

Media a la Goebbels.

A six year old commie no doubt. Send him to the salt mines!

Glenn Beck is the mentally ill person narrating the video you shared.

As far as the pledge of allegiance I have a problem with kids forced to recite pledges when they probably have no idea of the meaning of them. I mean 6 year olds can't sign up for the Marines and pledge an oath there. Point being 6 year olds have no idea of such things. Why should they be pledging allegiance to country they really know nothing about except what they see on Saturday morning cartoons. Kinda cheapens the whole pledge of allegiance thing if you ask me.

Just trying to be helpful. You posted something, and I wasn't sure if it was directed at me, some other poster, or your neighbor across the street.

Will it be in pourly written English?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

It is saddens me that someone (an adult, presumably, though that is not a given based on the context) is naive enough to think that having a group of young school kids sing a ditty like this is NOT indoctrination. Of course it is. That's where it begins, with young minds. That's why terrorists and guerrilla organizations put guns in the hands of children and teach them how to kill so young. Then it just becomes a way of life.

I am totally with you on that. I think all the flag waving that goes on in schools is freaky. It doesn't make you more likely to behave responsibly toward your country.

Seriously? You do know that in elementary school it is extremely common for the president to be the subject of poems/songs and other creative writing? What do you expect a six year old to come up with? A well balanced critique?

Sorry, I don't watch much TV. Have heard the name, of course, but couldn't have ID'd him in a lineup unless the other perps were all females.

I didn't really know what it meant when I was in 1st or 2nd grade, of course. But as time went on, and I began to think for myself, I analyzed what the words meant, and I believed in them. And when I was in Korea, or the Philippines, and was in a place where their folks were reciting their pledges, I too stood and rendered the same courtesy as they did, even though I didn't understand the words. It's a pledge to uphold a nation's traditions and beliefs. As long as those ideals are moral and upright, I don't have a problem with it, personally.

You would most likely get more satisfaction/productivity out of trying to teach a rock to walk.

If you watched the video, you can clearly hear the teacher spoon-feeding the lyrics to the kids. Or is the teacher a six year old? (sorry: translation four yew: "sicks yeer oult").
