Obama didn't break the American system of government

The Constitution and the whole "checks & balances" thing is all set up with the assumption that we'd elect people of good faith, who weren't constantly trying to permanently usurp power from the other branches, and who ignore laws while sneering at what the public actually wants, and who completely politicize every branch of government to uses that are opposite of their original intent (Holder's DOJ? Give me a break).

The Framers couldn't have imagined that a slim majority of the public (with the help of media!) would be blind enough to elect a smooth-talking Machiavellian who actually holds ill will for both the electorate and the country itself.

That is the official name of a program signed into law by a president. You desire to censor history?.. So what do we call this program. Google is your friend. It is in every school history book in the United States.

Operation Wetback was a 1954 operation by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to remove about one million illegal immigrants from the southwestern United States, focusing on Mexican nationals.

The operation was modeled after a program that came to be termed the Mexican Repatriation, which put pressure on citizens of Mexico to return home during the Great Depression, due to the economic crisis in the United States.

The effort began in California and Arizona, and coordinated 1075 Border Patrol agents, along with state and local police agencies, to mount an aggressive crackdown. ... By the end of July, over 50,000 immigrants were caught in the two states. An estimated 488,000 illegal immigrants are claimed to have left voluntarily, for fear of being apprehended. By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and the INS estimates that 500,000 to 700,000 had left Texas of their accord.

It may not be family friendly to deport undocumented democrats but I would be in favor of a volume 2. I read that they are shipping many of this wave of kids entering the US (alone) to Boston. Do you think your property taxes will double for new schools and teachers by allowing this new wave in. How about TB and aids.

Perhaps that 5 hour wait in the emergency room on a Friday night will turn into a 6 or 8 one. It will be really family friendly for someone sitting there with a 3rd world disease that their child picked up at daycare.

And little over 10 years before it was perfectly acceptable to put Asian people in camps because they might be traitors. Because those were the days...

If you want far right nationalist government, just say so.

Oh dear, the US constitution is a fragile little thing isn't it?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Apparently to some it is a "living document" which can be ignored at will, partly because it is hard to understand because it is "over 100 years old".

I am glad you are so lackadaisical about your constitution, all that's required is a president without scruples and it's undone! 200 years all gone for naught. What are you going to do now? Cry?

Redirect to topic: I would ban mayonnaise. It is simply disgusting.

Mayonnaise rocks and is low carb. We have to reach a comprise. I made home made yum yum sauce sugar free this weekend. Soooo. Good

Again: why would anyone imagine that a leader would be elected who wouldn't have the country's best interests at heart? That's the current situation, and was entirely unforeseeable by the Framers. This kind of malice is a recent development.

You really believe that the president doesn't have the country's best interests at heart?

So his disagreement with you about policies gets turned into some kind of evil overlord who wants to destroy us from within? Whose very goal is to ruin the US?

That's pretty... out there. Revealing, though.
