here it says

Affidavit of Support forms should be completed on a computer, typed in CAPITAL letters

on the other page it says http://www.uscis.gov/i-864

  • If you complete the form by hand, please use black ink, keep your answers within the spaces provided, and do not use correction fluid or highlighters.

so now it is confusing can it be either way as long as it legible?please help :help:

Well you can do it handwritten but most people choose a computer because you know the typing will always be legible. You can mix hand written with typed as well if the forms don't allow you to type in something like none or N/A

if an item is not applicable or the answer is none leave the space blank it says on i 864 instructions

or should we should put none or N/A?also what do i put in a box for alien number if i dont have one?just leave it blank as well

do people get checklist because they leave space blank?

also i got this

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant’s
supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be
reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.
To view which documents the applicant must submit to the NVC, please go to our website
immigrantvisas.state.gov.
i sent my civil documents already by fedex are they still reviewing them?

Don't leave the items blank. People get checklists for that.

looks like a false checklist because they reviewed your DS-260.

If I make a mistake on the I 864 form, can I just cross it out by pen and put the correct info beside it?everything else is filled in correctly

we already sent ours but i worry because we will get checklist because of this

if we do get checklist do we have to resubmit the whole package again?

No offense, but if you made an error it wouldn't hurt you to do the whole thing over if its only a page (even if its 90 pages actually)... would of save you the hassle of worrying about it...

If they give you any problem about the papers worst thing that can happen is that you send the whole package again and wait again... if it happens if you make a mistake just print the same page and write the whole thing again correctly wouldn't take you 5 mins max would it? and make your life less stressful...

I hope everything works out for you though

NOTE: if you go with the computer way, you can always double check before printing... only thing that can't be printed is signature ofcourse

please help somebody

Can i submit copies of I 864 at the interview if they ask for it?or does it have to be original only?my husband will print 1 page that require signature and mail it to me by post

the rest of the pages will be copies and that 1 page with signature will be original?will this be good to go?

A) if there is a mistake, redo the form.

B) Only the signature needs to be original and AOS package including I-864 needs to go to the NVC, not the interview unless:

  1. you're bringing an updated I-864 to interview
  2. NVC told you to bring new I-864 to interview

You get checklists until it's right. You don't get a case complete until it's right. You don't get an interview until you have a case complete. You pretty much just delay everything by not filling the forms correctly.
