You could, but do remember that the visa validity will be tied to the date of the medical. If you have not received your CASE COMPLETE notice from NVC I tend to say be patient.

You realize you still have about another abt 2 to 3 months at NVC before even getting a interview which can take another month or more.

Not a good idea coz its way too early. You will spend a few more months with NVC before your case will be complete.

Hi guys! How about with TB history? Is it better to go to medical when the NVC number already available since it will undergo sputum culture test? Thanks

AOS Journey:

March 30 - AOS/EAD/AP sent

April 2 - USCIS received

April 9 - NOA1

May 6 - Biometrics

May 7 - Case is ready for interview

May 21 - Request for EAD expedite

May 26 - contact congressman for EAD expedite

June 1 - EAD card in production

June 2 - EAD approved

June 6 - EAD/AP combo card received

I guess it's best to wait as the medical is only valid for 6 months and with the current processing times at NVC and the possibility of getting a checklist, you might redo your medical again. At least wait until your case is completed :)

I guess it is better to go and have your medical exam, cause I think if you had TB previously, they'll find a spot/scar on your lungs and they'll require you to undergo the sputum culture test that can go from 1-6 months (correct me if I'm wrong).

Once you have your MNL # from NVC you can take two copies of that to SLEC for the medical. If you have TB history it wouldn't be a bad idea to get started early.

Thanks everyone! That is my plan, will go medical as soon as I received the Manila case number. Hoping for NOA2 soon and negative culture test.

AOS Journey:
