I was thinking that too, about the job offer. Guess she's still in the market for a better job.

The hiring methods in the USA drive my wife crazy to. Back home she'd just stop in places and talk to them. They had had a spot she was right for, they'd hire her right then and there.

i'm taking the pharmacy job for now, but i don't want a part time retail position forever. i did get an email yesterday from one of the county jobs i applied for, related to children and social services. they sent an update (i applied two weeks ago) that they are reviewing my application and will send me further updates throughout the recruitment process - i don't know how to interpret that but i am guessing "we have received your application and will contact you if we need anything further". i will send a follow up email to thank them and let them know i'm still interested today.

i wish i could ask j for help with this but he does not have much experience with hiring speak. most of the jobs he was hired for, he got them practically right away through networking/connections. fingers crossed.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

right, especially since they have very long 'open' periods (like 2 months). well, nothing may come of it, but i sent that follow-up email anyway. :D
