Nola they have plenty of diy websites to fix just about anything if your unsure. Could take a look to double check if you're thinking is right. It's definitely a big job if you could gets a bunch of quotes and see what has to be done before making up your mind.

Nola - if you are a reader and like books -

check out the home repair section in Half-Price Books (or your fav used book store)

for the Complete Time-Life Series on home repair and remodelling.

Sure, some of the stuff is outdated for CURRENT things, but you've an old house and it shouldn't matter :(

Many structural things are discussed there in layman's terms (which was why I bought the stupid set, ages past).

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

New Balance is the only sneaker still manufactured in the USA. Not all of them, some of them.

I got introduced to NB at uni, never bought anything else since.

Darnell will only buy this type of bag for his wifey

red-white-blue-bag-outline.jpg

Blech. Bite Me. I'm into vintage handbags and purses, branded. The older LV stuff is always a big find for me, as I know the actual value of this stuff and usually find it 1/3 to 1/4th of the value. But try to convince my wife that a slightly-used, VINTAGE LV bag is actually more trendy than buying a new one? FML ! NO WAY !!! Must be new ! I hate this stuff. So I keep scoping out the sales and outlet malls, and some estate sales in the richer parts of town. I like the trunk sales here in town, but her group of friends have no f'ing clue about VINTAGE LV or even Coach, much less GUCCI.

as I said - FML.

My parents used to have that set or something similar. I think the more we explore the worse it gets and basixally the whole ceiling needs to be reframed while supporting the roof. We are both feeling this might be out of our reach in terms of time and acceptability to building inspector.

Did you buy this house with a mortgage? If yes, the seller failed to disclose this stuff. In Texas, a Seller's Disclosure statement is a big deal, and if cr@p like this is found after closing, the Seller is responsible for fixing it.

If you bought it 'as is' then yer own yer own. I can give recommendations on how to get free materials to fix it, and that's all.

I see that commander J has returned to Ohio

was this the male or female of the soon-to-be-unpaired?

In NY, there's a "disclosure statement waiver", the seller has to pay 500 bucks to include it. And he's a fool for not using it.

I bought it cash, but not as is. The realtor gave us the old seller disclosure statement but because they had not lived in the house for 2 years they were not requires to disclose. What kills me is we had a building inspector look at the house and not only did he get the ceiling material wrong (it is gypsum on fiberboard not plaster), he missed the vermiculite, the ceiling issue, the basement supports, and told the seller and us that the knob and tube was safe. When we pulled down more of the ceiling today we found uncapped live knob and tube that had just been cut where a fixture used to be. It was sitting in cellulose that had previously been wet because of a roof leak. I am going to ask for a refund at the very least.

So the big shot was on a war path today. I get broadsided by the barrage, I get blamed. I was livid. Then I was on a war path..... It was his boy that screwed up, not me. Later, he stopped just short of apologizing to me. But I can sorta see where this is headed. With another offer waiting, I may have to work on wrapping things up here.....

Many secret texts sent by other members in my support throughout the day was greatly appreciated. Word got around pretty quick.

I'd say I landed on my feet unscathed....

Ok. Was that planned? I seem to remember something about seeking apartments, but thought she would find one and stay there, relying on freecycle to furnish the place.

Perhaps she paid a deposit and went back to Ohio?

More importantly, why did she go back to Ohio save to sign the divorce petition and file it in that local county place?

Still searching for apartments. Background checks are not done yet so no contract yet hard to look for a place without a set contract and secure income. No need to freecycle furnish my place.

Yes I came back to Ohio to handle paperwork for dissolution. It must be done by this Friday. I also need to pack all my belongings and prepare paperwork for ROC later on since it will need to be done soon and I worry that I might be very busy with work.

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

NOA1 for ROC 14 October, 2014

Life goes on, my ex-husband is a moron.
