Nola: ya....she poops in the house if she is left alone for too long or if she feels abandoned or in new place. She will be fine here. She will poop all over and cry a lot and possibly annoy MIL but I won't be here to see it and will try not to think about the puppy.

Good that you aren't taking her then. Apartment and/or roommate hunting is much easier without a pet.

I would venture to guess a significant portion of husbands would say that.

Not mine! Plus, he gets the Asian flush.

Could not help but comment with my own things since I am self-centered.

Thanks for sharing.

You have your answer. If moving out of the bedroom doesn't get their attention...

The one who needs to learn is us. We hope that they learn how important it is to us that they address our needs. But it is we who learn they aren't going to meet our needs. So we can decide to stay, and have our needs unmet - in which case the mistake is ours. Or, we choose independence and put one foot in front of the other until it is finally over.

Darnell the issue of control is pretty important. What wafflers do is manage how they waffle. When things start to look bad for them, they grant the appearance of conceding on something important, which takes the heat off them. The victim is reeling from thinking they are getting a divorce and starting to steel themselves towards that end... and suddenly it's "I want to stay married and work it out". So there is euphoria and relief washing over the target who is no longer thinking in terms of established deadlines and deliverables. When the target decides to take matters into their own hands and set deadlines, file paperwork, etc. then control has been taken out of the waffler's hands. But if the waffler can then defeat those deadlines and forestall filing paperwork then control is back in their hands again.

We say actions speak louder than words so saying we have changed our minds and want to be married after yesterday's divorce talk... it's just talk at this point. Not long ago staying married meant living together but not being in love. So here again, it's about control over what the marriage means, and it has been all over the map. There's the anguish: not knowing what things mean.

I want to make sure I understand something though. Menopause has a medical definition. If you are trying to have kids then I don't understand why menopause is a factor. How old is she?

take her out to the Asian supermarket, buy raw foods (only) plus 5 packs of jiaozi wrappers. and that's it. ;)

rlogan - the milestones are mine. established deadlines and deliverables are mine. She not pitch those, I pitched them and she agreed. I could shift on these, at will. she is 44 years of age. re: waffling - she's not been waffling much on anything, always pushing. In the meantime, being told that she cried much yesterday about getting divorced, and choosing to stay married instead, is a big deal in our communication history. Sure - I understand about waffling - but she's not done much waffling, historically. I'm just happy we aren't filing divorce paperwork this week. Ya ya, I know - this could change, but believe it or no, she's been rather good at keeping her word, these 7 years.

Heh heh... I think I started trying about 2 prequels ago. I couldn't catch up, so I just gave up reading. But who can resist a good rant? ;)

Not sure how to introduce myself, but when I do post I typically post in the Effects forum. I follow from a hand phone, and I live in the same city as Uncle D and T-Bone.

*Obligatory rant* I forgot my rant... :(
