mmm i love watching my man string his guitar (no that is not a euphemism for anything dirty, thank you). :) he is handsome and adorable and talented and i have no idea how out of all the girls out there he picked me. (L)

ok, that's the end of my mushy verbiage. :P life is pretty good these days...

Awww. :D

We are also in a good place with our freedom.

 Besides boxes with paintings, I only have 4 more boxes left to unpack. Then I can get back to painting and renovating. :energy:

glad to hear the move has been good for you, and very happy for you. and i totally get the iron thing - not that i was not allowed to iron before, but in our home here, i can set the ironing board to the height that suits me, and nobody touches it - nobody! back home in singapore, i have to adjust it lower, then adjust it back up after i am done for my mom and sister...annoying. it's the little things that make the biggest difference sometimes.

also, rowentas are awesome. i would love one. i have a cheapo black and decker that i bought just because it is heavy and will help me crease seams easier when sewing. basically, it has settings 1-8, and anything below 5 is just useless lol.

I love my mother, but living with family is tough.

Did you buy a new sewing machine here?

You guys are young yet and lots of time to get Rowentas and stuff.

I just unpacked the chessboard and I leave the room for a minute and my daughter must have sensed its presence, she's already setting it up to play!

Soo cute.

well....lets see.....

So, first, how long has he been blind?

And it's obvious that he has no hands (Because he can't feel your face), so how can he string a guitar?

And deaf, he obviously can't hear you nag......

Ah, no wonder why you love him.....he's the Pinball Wizard :)

I am jealous of your better sewing machine. Years ago, I bought a Singer Simple without reading any reviews and while it works fine most of the time, I like others, have trouble with it jamming when it shouldn't. It was really irritating, especially since it was my first machine and I thought I was just really stupid at the time and couldn't figure it out.

lower end singers are unfortunately infamous for sudden jamming, thread nests, etc. :( that is what i started with too and it was so discouraging. sucks because beginners are more likely to get a cheap machine as they are not sure how invested they are in sewing. then they end up having to deal with troubleshooting all the issues with tension, threading etc and end up losing interest.

the babylock has been great so far - i'd recommend it if you were ever in the market for another sewing machine.

I think they have a few tricks the south of the equator girls would love to trade their tricks for.

Perhaps so, maybe man -- but if anything became of Mrs. T-B. and all the rubias inexplicably rejected me (impossible, of course), I'd go for another Southern Hemispheric chica-type... but one already legally in the country who could adjust status, so that I wouldn't have another baastard consulate with which to deal, si and no way man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Oh I want Starbucks now.....

I get only the small jars of instant from the dollar stores, si man. I use them to fill a long-empty Many-ounce jar of Folger's, see man. Very cost-efficient, whee and $i man.
