I would never have guessed you're older than me Jada. And I know I don't loom my age unless you notice my smile lines. I notice my angry lines have pretty much disappeared since I left my ex. Hrm.

I was wearing a red dress the top looks like a shirt so it is very professional and heels and my leather presentation thingie and glasses....I guess I smile and that is the problem. I figured being fatter helps also....makes me look older....so I thought. Well frack. :(

Actually being fatter makes people look younger, on their hands and face, as it fills in any lines and hollows.

I honestly don't mind not looking like a dried up plum but for work....difficult at times.

I hear you! I am short and look younger than I am and its hard to get employers and coworkers to take me seriously. I agree with nola that a lot of it is how you present yourself - dressing, demeanor, even a firm handshake helps. The other part is just proving yourself over time so they cant say you are too young, because you've done it all, and more. I dont think it will take you long to change their perception of you!

Oh yeah...also...pic of jada in red dress now! :P

I got the children´s home job!! Will start once the background check is completed.

I think i am still keeping the retail job though. It has been so satisfying building the store from ground up and i have already made friends with coworkers. Anyone else who immigrated feel like you didnt notice how insulated and removed you were from society until you started working and had people to socialise with? It feels amaaaazing to talk and laugh with others again.

Of course the 30% employee discount doesnt hurt either lol

That is fantastic! I found living in DK that I didn't realize who isolated I was, not talking to neighbors, not being able to chat with people in shops. I'm glad you get some more socialization now too.

Yay, kit, congrats! :) I was actually dropping by to celebrate, too - hubs got a new job at a restaurant today! He starts on Monday. Very excited for him.

Life has been hectic recently though, since we're moving tomorrow. Busy busy busy.

woo, congrats mr. partiv!

how has your wisdom tooth surgery recovery been?

congrats on the move, also! don't lift heavy things, let your hubs do the work, while your gums + tooth sockets heal!
