This is the first time I've had any wine as an adult and it doesn't taste as bad as it did when I was younger, but still not very good. Not getting the drinking wine thing.

I'm not getting the drinking wine either.

Just like drinking whisky.

Just like drinking beer (apart from Somersby Apple Beer Drink :P).

Clean vodka rulezzz :D

Last weekend I drank some Finnish vodka, called Koskenkorva Vodka with 60% alcohol. Two shots was enough to put us in a good mood :D

We will talk again tonight, I am not so hopeful. This will be an easy talk, less than 10 minutes, going over options. short list:

1. see a marriage counselor well versed in china transitions (already found her)

2. separate and peg a milestone to it.

3. divorce

that's it. if the milestone is meaningful, we'll get back together easily, else not.

Good luck, Darnell.

Final pre-cat/prep/zzz note: am 99% pain-free, disbelief and whee man!

Whee man! :D

Ya, it is sad.

Last night we went over the options. This morning we went over the parameters of the separation. No decision yet, still talking.

Sorry to hear that :(

So, conundrums. As has been stated before, I seem to be perpetually in school, 9 years or so this fall. I suggested to my husband that instead of working $15/hour forever that we go ahead and do his trade education starting immediately (I had mistakenly believed that they had different in/out of state tuition rates). It'll cost including books and tuition $7200 for the first part that will allow him to apprentice as a plumber (it is another $7200 to also do HVAC and get an associate's degree).

But... he might not be able to find a part time job that works around the schooling hours. And I am loathe to work because of the social anxiety. Do I take the money I set aside for the rest of my education to finance him getting his and 8 months of not working or only working part time? My mother has claimed that she will reimburse me for As and him for As or Bs. So far, so good on that promise. We'd still be out of the working income, though.

The chances of me getting a degree are ok at this moment, but the chances of me ever having a career are probably slim to none. What would y'all do?

degree label, career title, let us know?

First part is a certificate in Construction Plumbing from the community college, second one is an AS in Construction Plumbing and HVAC.

HVAC doesn't require an official apprenticeship, but plumbing requires about 4 years to journeyman.

Are there any career counselors around? Try to get in contact with them and figure our a career plan.

For who? I don't usually find value in such people.

May be if I read Tark's posts they'll put me to sleep......

I'll trade your reading of my posts for your back, si man.

TB I hope you can find something that helps your back without massive painkillers.

Si, ma'am; I plan to set an appointment with my doc or one of his sports-medicine colleagues to find out what to do when this wears off (as it's slightly doing -- see below), see man.

Yup Yup. This is called 'Chinese Congregation Mode', but the title only learned by those who get hurt by it.

Sorry, Bro D. Hoping for Option 1, si man.

Interim Sunday back-report, see man:

Went to sleep on right side, hedging bets as stated, si man.

Slept like rock for Many hours (2+2+2), probably without even rolling over, zzz man.

Awoke in some stiffness but little pain; attempted some of our standard stretching-exercises.

Have made it through rather quiet day, all in casa, doing Many laundry-loads + ironing, si man.

Hired lawn crew for $Many; they did fabulous job, whee man. Might reuse them during August, si man.

Fell asleep at computer while researching tyres, zzz man, but have not laid down for nap, no zzz man.

Should probably venture from casa to gas the Mrs.-T-B.-mobile & go to Aldi Foods, si man.

Sadly, new tyres will probably set me back at least $Many no matter where I get them, sigh man.

Amazing how phone calls to two different NTB stores can be handled so differently, rude/polite man.

You've answered your own question, si ma'am. Lots of money & future in either HVAC or plumbing, $i ma'am.

It is just hard for me to let go of being a perpetual student. It has been my entire 27 year life at this point.

Also, a little hard to let go of my dad wanting me to use the money to finish school. I get that he and my mother would have wanted me to finish, but even my mother is coming around to realize that having a degree and a career might be a little far off for me. You can't let the dead control your life which you are actually living.

As TBone stated, you have kind of answered your own question. You don't have to go to college to study, continue at home if that is what you want.

Sounds like she is not so much influenced as telling them part of the story to get a team of yes-men (ladies) on her side.

inability to be honest with herself and subsequently with others. I had that going on for a good part of my life.....just putting myself in the victim mode, leaving part of the story out and not recognizing my own faults and that maybe I might be wrong just so I can come out on top so to speak. Took me a good part of my life to get over that also. I am hoping Darnell's wife will wake up and try to work on the marriage. As long as she is willing to be a part of making it work..it will.

Good luck Darnell !!
