Why thank you Nik.....it means a lot whether if you know it or not.

Told the big shot in a short but well expressed email that I'm not going beyond 2015 here.

Feels kinda good.

Have job waiting at The Durst Organization. Easier job, higher pay.

Missed you Stretch. When are you guys going home? I need to make fun of you.

Tell your wife to shape up or ship out and stop creating more headache for you :)

You're welcome Steve. :)

I'm happy for you!

Thanks, but I'm not sure about committing to the new job.

I do have a great job now. And I've gone further than I've ever dreamt. But I still hate it. I know I shouldn't complain.

But I missed my calling in life, I did. I shoulda just flew a helo for a logging company all my life. Shoulda been a merchant marine. Shoulda been a carpenter. Shoulda been an engineer.....I would have made the best of any job.

Shoulda, coulda......

<sigh>

Not long ago I was just getting started. Came across many cross roads. Made some good choices, made some bad ones. Regretted very little of it. Yes I do have regrets.

You young ones, make your choices right when you come across those roads. You only come across opportunity once or twice in your life.

Grass is always greener. You wouldn't have near the life you have now or the money. I know someone that always complained that she never was able to become a carpenter and I seriously just have to laugh a little. She easily makes 6-7 times what a carpenter makes and yet she still complains about not having enough money.

*sigh* You do what you got to do in life to support your* family; life isn't about finding happiness in a job or pursuing dreams.

*your being the operative word here.

I think the optimum would be to find a job you enjoy. Money doesn't buy happiness. It helps buy things and if things are all you need to be happy... well I guess it does that. Granted life is easier with money, but it's not the end all, be all. I would be happy living with my husband in a trailer, I'm happy to live with him where we are, and would be happy with him in a house. I'd be happy with him in Canada or here in the USA. We all want more things and more stuff. It's human nature to want more. It's almost a long lost survival instinct.

$1,095,000 for something like that??????????????????????????

Is it made of gold or something???

Lol sportfishers are built differently, they have deep drafts with tough hulls, built to take seas. They cost about twice as much as a luxury yacht. About 10000 dollars a foot up to 30 feet, then 20000 a foot over 30.....

Is anyone especially knowledgable in legal things?

If a shipping company has a complete loss on a booth.

Loss as in 'we lost it' not loss as in damage, but a clause says this:

b. MAXIMUM RECOVERY. If found liable for any loss, Freeman’s sole and
exclusive MAXIMUM liability for loss or damage to Exhibitors materials and
Exhibitor’s sole and exclusive remedy is limited to $.50 (USD) per pound per
article with a maximum liability of $100.00 (USD) per item, or $1,500.00 (USD)
per shipment whichever is less. All shipment weights are subject to correction and
final charges determined by the actual or re-weighed weight of the shipment.

Is there any way around this?

Like, honestly, we have a rental agreement that states we can charge the client for a booth if it's not returned.

We require them to give a CC for this charge if the booth doesn't return after 30 days.

But legally, we can never even do that. lol.

$21k booth lost.

They sent us an agreement to pay $100.

Like this is seriously the biggest joke ever.

I think I got this.

I'm taking the negligence route.

The whole reason they had the freight was because they misloaded it.

I think the fact that we sign a limited liability agreement should be negated by their negligence.

Their clause suggests clients hold insurance for cases such as these, but their negligence gave us no opportunity to do so since the freight should have been moving under our carrier's insurance policy.
