Hi everybody I would appreciate someone's help. I applied for AOS on 3/26/2014 and received a RFE on 4/25/2014. I still haven't replied to it; I got time until mid of July. I applied for EAD and AP after I received the RFE 4/29/2014. I don't really care about the EAD, but is my AP process on hold until my response to the RFE? Thank you!

Yes I am afraid the entire process goes on hold until they have received your response to the RFE.

Are you sure everything is on hold, I'm not, why would an RFE for AoS affect EAD/AP especially as they were filed separately and I believe these things are processed separately as well.

Lately I have seen AOS/EAD/AP processing go either way upon USCIS issuance of a RFE for the AOS. There are recent forum threads going either way. I thought that I had seen something on a USCIS site mentioning the process, but can't find it. It would certainly be nice to definitively know which approach USCIS would always employ, but with so many things associated with USCIS.....it somewhat akin to playing dice games. YMMV.

I mean in the RFE letter it does say "THE SERVICE WILL PROCESS YOUR FORM i-765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION (IF SUBMITTED) WITHIN 90 DAYS OF THE RECEIPT OF YOUR MISSING INITIAL EVIDENCE", but there's no word mentioned about a AP. I even called the USCIS twice, talked to two different people and they said that the RFE doesn't affect the process. I guess I just have to hang in there. Thanks all for your help though.
