Hi so I may be being a bit special here but I filled my DS-260 back at the beginning of June and now I'm starting to panic that I've done it slightly wrong. When you complete the DS-260 it tells you to send the documents. Well I didn't do this, I thought that as I am filing DCF at London then I just have to take all my supporting files with me, is this correct or do I need to send the documents off to the NVC ASAP. I have already done the medical etc, and am now just waiting for an interview date. So while I am waiting was going over everything again.

from the DS-260: "All applicants must:

  1. Obtain and submit required supporting civil documents.
  2. Obtain and submit photographs that meet the Department of State’s visa requirements.
  3. Review the information specific to U.S. Embassy/Consulate General where your visa interview will occur.

If you have not already collected and submitted the required documents to the National Visa Center then you should do so at this time. If the documentation you have submitted is either insufficient or incomplete you will be notified by the NVC. Your visa interview cannot be scheduled until your supporting documentation is complete and correct."

And I know that it is black and white there I was just led to believe that the London Embassy would want these documents and not the NVC in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Sorry if its a bit jibberish, hopefully my question makes sense, I've just got myself a little wound up now. Please help me and thank you for those that I know will comment

CR1s (and other immigrants) who file in the US and process at NVC send documents to NVC, pay at the NVC stage, and get assigned an interview by the NVC.

CR1s like yourself file the petition in London and do nothing at NVC. your process will be very much like the K1 fiancés. To get an interview:

*Do the DS-260 online. Print confirmation.

*Have a medical exam.

*Do the Readiness for Interview form online

When you have an interview date assigned to you, schedule the courier delivery online.

Take all your personal documents to the interview as the London website says.

You are a superstar...I thought this was the case but when doubt enters your mind, especially under these circumstances, my head was telling me I'd messed up and I have had a washing machine on spin cycle going on in my stomach. Once again many thanks
