New green card lost in mail

My wife has her green card.

Filed i90 after name change, approved and new card lost in mail.

Question:

Is old green card with old name still good? Not expired yet, and we plan on leaving the country before it expires. It just has her old last name on it.

When you say "name change", what do you mean? What process are you referring to?

She got her first green card and then we decided to change her last name to mine. She got approved and they sent us her new card with her married name but, we never received it in the mail. We want to know whether her first green card is still valid or not. Is there a chance they canceled it in order to valid the new one that never arrived ? Is the alien number always the same ? We had a trip in 4 month and she's got at least to get a stamp on her passport.

OK, so when you got married she at first decided to keep her name, and she applied for the green card with that name, and then later she decided to take your name and you filed the I-90 to get a replacement card with her new name?

The alien number stays the same.

What name is in her passport?

I'm not sure if I can answer your question about the green card. Probably best to make an appointment to get an I-551 stamp just in case. Then she can ask at the infopass appointment if the green card she has is still good or not. If they say no to the stamp, that the green card is still good, then you're fine.
