Interview Jitters

Husband and I will be at the new US Consulate in Santo Domingo for our IR1/CR1 I-130 interview July 28th. We are both beginning to panic. The only foreseeable issue (which he swears against and I believe him) would be with the results from the medical exam.

On what grounds are these types of visas denied and how often does Santo Domingo choose to do so?

I know we should remain positive, but I want to have some idea in my mind of what we may be up against. Also, we have only one person who attested to our relationship in the initial process? Should I obtain another from my famuly/friends, have it notarized and bring it along? Thoughts...???

Thank you for your response!

I just spent Fathers Day and my hubby's birthday in Santo Domingo... We took the little one to the beach for the first time. For the most part it was nice to relax before all that is to come. He heads home again at the end of next week for his medical. We practiced the question types and he felt confident...it's just we've waited 13 months for this and we just want it all to go well.

Take a deep breath and I tell you it will be ok. They will ask you questions that he should already know the answers to so its not a trick question type of interview. As long as his medical is good and he is honest cause they have all the answers to what they are gonna ask him. They just want to see if he has the same answers. My fiancée was in her interview for 5 minutes and that's it. Now she was a k1 visa applicant but it should be somewhat the same if they have all the documents etc.

Good Luck
