fiancée visa background check

I have a question for the filipina beneficiaries out there who are nurses from the PI that came through the k1 process. Did you encounter any problems through the process? From what I read, they are really scrutinizing fiancés from the PI who are nurses that are wanting to come here to be with their fiancé. My fiancée is a licensed nurse however she is not practicing it. When they do a background check on her and find out that she's a registered nurse, is there a possibility that red flags could come up seeing that they would think that if the marriage does not work out she could stay there by getting a job as a nurse since there is a high demand for filipina nurses in the us. She told me that she'll never go into that profession. I need input on this bc me and her are concerned that since she's a registered nurse, they may red flag our petition...thanks

I've never heard of anyone being denied a visa because of their nursing profession.

What you should focus on is proving that your relationship is bonafide because that is what the embassy will be scrutinizing on.

Of course and we do have concrete evidence and enough proof that it is a bona fide relationship. We just want to make sure that her former nursing profession as a registered nurse won't raise any red flags. That they may think that she's only marrying me to get through the line to work here as a nurse...they only issue so many work visas for filipina nurses to work here so hence my concern.

What about if the OP is disabled and it looks like he is bringing in a care giver?

Then you have nothing to worry about.

If YOU think she's marrying you to get a green card then that's a whole different story.

We're just making sure that her being a registered nurse even if she doesn't practice it at all won't affect her chances of coming here. I was curious to hear stories from fiancés from the Philippines how they were treated during the interview process and the whole journey as well from getting the visa to arriving in the states.

All relationships are definitely scrutinized up to some degree, and as you know already, each case is unique. In a fiance/ spousal visa application, the beneficiary's profession is never regarded as one of the factors of her/him being denied, unless the embassy found concrete proof of fraud or misrepresentation, of course. Don't think too much about this. Agreed with Apple, just make sure you have enough evidence to show that you guys are in a loving and genuine ongoing relationship, and you should be fine!

You don't have to worry about that, I"m the beneficiary and i'm a registered nurse too. For as long as the relationship you have is bonafide and genuine, your fiancee present a lot of proof of ongoing relationship, complete documents and etc. there's no way she can be denied. God bless:)

The Nursing shortage is long gone in the USA.

Philippines is a country full of RN working at call centers, Never meet so many RN in my life as in Philippines who don't work as a Nurse

As far a nurses getting visas to work in USA, Retrogression kicked in many years ago, So they don't bring them in like they did 7 to 10 years ago.

As far as getting denied due to being a RN, that is typical Philippines BS they have made up in their head.

Other RN Fantasies in Philippines. One must have work experience before getting job in USA as RN, and One must pass local exam before sitting for NCLEX to become RN in USA

Only red flags the embassy looks for is FRAUD, they don't care that your fiancee is educated to be a nurse. If you relationship is genuine (and you provide all the required documents) then there are no problems.

I am an RN here in Philippines for 6 years now and my fiancee is a US RN as well. In our case there's no problem. They didn't even asked about my job. They only asked about my fiancee and our relationship part :).
