Hello,

Because of his age (62 years old), my husband only needs three vaccines -- varicella, tb and influenza. He actually had varicealla when he was a kid and was vaccinated for tb but he does not have any of his records (and the hospital where they did the vaccinations in the 50s has been closed). Does anyone know what his options are? Also he really does not want to be vaccinatd for influenza. Again, what options does he have or will he be forced to?

For information: My husband is Italian and immigrating to the US with me, his spouse of seven years. We are currently living in Italy and so will have the interview and medical check at the processing centre in Naples. We are hoping to move to the US this Fall so our 5 year old son can start school.

Thanks so much for any advice!

Thank you.

They take verbal confirmation for varicella. It's not flu season now so he shouldn't need the flu shot.

Lots of people don't have records. It's not something to worry about.

shot records not needed to file the I-130.

medical exam must be done prior to visa interview day - the doctor will handle/arrange all and your husband will be fine.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

TB shot? We don't have that shot in the US. It's not needed. He will show that he does not have the disease TB; they will test him.

Verbal confirmation for chicken pox.
