Amended tax return, should I wait for AOS package?

I filed my tax return as a single so I amended my status to Married filing separately but I forgot to write down NRA and got a mail from IRS saying that I need SSN. I just replied to that mail by writing a letter saying that he is a NRA two days ago.

So my questions is do you think this letter will be resolve the problem OR should I re-amend my tax return again by filing out a new form? Furthermore, I think I can send my AOS package sometime next month, but I feel like it will take more than a month to hear back from IRS. Saying that should I wait until I hear back from IRS or should I send AOS package with a copy of amended tax return?

I think I should be able to fix this problem by the time of interview and provide amended status as MFS, but I would just hate to waste my time just waiting for IRS snail mail :(

One more question.

For 2013 I was working but for 2011and 2012 I was a student so my income was fairly low except 2013, should I ask my dad to be my co-sponser just to be safe? Also I'm going back to school this coming fall.

Adjusted gross income for 2013: $ 26000

2012 :$9000

2011: $9600

Thank you in advance !
