I'm jealous of all the Phillipinos :( Their cases get shipped to NVC in about a month. I'm still stuck in USCIS for over a month. Anyone bringing someone over from VN that has a timeline? I filled in April,got sent to USCIS within a week. Please share.

May 12, 2014 - Case recieved at Chicago, IL.

May 13, 2014 - Case accepted. Received LIN#. Case forwarded to USCIS, Nebraska. i-797 hard copy received shortly after.

I'm jealous of all the Phillipinos :( Their cases get shipped to NVC in about a month. I'm still stuck in USCIS for over a month. Anyone bringing someone over from VN that has a timeline? I filled in April,got sent to USCIS within a week. Please share.

I believe the reason why because their case got expedited because Yolanda typhoon.

Perhaps if one learned to write in America. Single quotes are the norm in the U.K. You know, the place where the English language was born. :rolleyes:

You can see my timeline below. You have to wait for a long time. Be patient! Good luck.

USCIS

Jan 14, 2014 - Sent I-130 applications for my mom and dad to Phoenix Lockbox

Jan 15, 2014 - Received and forwarded to Nebraska Service Center

Jan 20, 2014 - Online status update with email and text receipt numbers

Jan 23, 2014 - NOA 1 with priority date Jan 15, 2104

June 5, 2014 - Both parents' application APPROVED!!!!!!!

NVC

June 11, 2014 - Received email from USCIS that they shipped my petitions to NVC

June 17, 2014 - USCIS shipped the physical petitions to NVC

June 23, 2014 - Called NVC and they received our petitions.
July 7, 2014 - Called NVC and got case number and invoice number for both parents
July 7, 2014 - DS-261 filled out for both parents.

July 8, 2014 - AOS fee available and online payment made.

July 10, 2014 - AOS fee showed "PAID"

July 10, 2014 - DS-260 completed for both parents

July 10, 2014 - CEAC website indicated that both parents' petition sent to Ho Chi Minh City Consulate

July 11, 2014 - NVC operator confirmed that their petitions were shipped to the consulate.

July 28, 2014 - Interview scheduled - APPROVED!!!

July 31,2014- Visa issued showed on CEAC.

August 4, 2014- Visa in hands!!!

Why are you jealous?

The reason Filipinos got their cases expedited was because of Hurricane Yolanda.

Would you like a natural disaster to strike Vietnam killing many people so you can get an expedite too?

People need to understand that Filipinos are get getting expedites for being Filipinos. They are getting expedites for humanitarian reasons because of the Yolanda situation.

People need to understand that Filipinos are get getting expedites for being Filipinos. They are getting expedites for humanitarian reasons because of the Yolanda situation.

I didn't know because of the natural disaster sped up the process...hence the question of why it was so much quicker for them. I didn't think natural disaster can speed up the process that much. If I knew, I wouldn't be asking. And yes, I am jealous because they get to be with their spouses sooner than most of us. Plus someone already posted the answer, no reason for you to bash on me and answered nothing new.
