Thanks, our interview just got postponed due to the typhoon so we have more time for Qatar certificate. I read online that if you have emails and proof of trying to get the certificate and making every attempt to get it they will let that go, just have to show that you have done all you can to get the certificate. They are well aware that people have lots of problems getting these. Isn't the paperwork fun?

Hope you get it soon

Hi, did you get your clearance yet? what happened during your interview? we are having the same issue and when I called the NVC, they said an interview will not be set for us until they got the Qatar Police Clearance. I am not sure how I can request for an interview after that.

Hi ..I work before in Qatar 2012-2013 ..now im here in the philippines and i tried to process my Police Clearance by a friend whos still resides in qatar...i follow all the steps in their website on how to get the police certificate for outside abroad..i send the complete requirements..Then i found out when my friend called me, saying that the qatar is no longer giving PoliceCertificate to those whos not present in the country..and their website is not yet updated about this changes...She actually let me talk to the officer/attendant in ministry of interior arbic guy and he told me the same... now what im planning to do is to wait for my interview..and tell to the Immigration Officer about the issue of qatar police certificate if ever ask me about it. and do the necessary steps to get a visa. Good luck to us! ^_^

what is the latest update on this one? do they still give qatar police clearance even though you're in the philippines now?

Former residents should write to the Department of Public Security and General Administration, Ministry of Interior, P.O. Box 920, Doha, State of Qatar supported by the following documents:

  1. A letter requesting the issuance of a Police Clearance Certificate from the State of Qatar. The letter should include the purpose in requesting the Police Clearance Certificate, the first date of arrival of the person in Qatar and the last date of departure.
  2. A complete photocopy of all pages of the passport (include copies of all pages, regardless of entries).
  3. A set of fingerprints taken by a competent government authority from the applicant's current place of residence.
  4. 3 passport-size photographs.
  5. A self-addressed return envelope large enough to hold an A4 size document.

The Police Clearance Certificate will be issued in about two weeks and will be mailed to the applicant.

thats why im getting confused.hehe

Well i saw that information too on their website...but unfortunately the officer i spoke to from ministry of interior in doha,Qatar said, "their website is not yet upadted for the new changes" ..so save ur time, money and effort collecting those requirements cuz it will end up to nothing..( lil advice, base on my experience ;-) )

The State Dept site states:

"Former residents should write to the Department of Public Security and General Administration, Ministry of Interior, P.O. Box 920, Doha, State of Qatar supported by the following documents:

  4. 3 passport-size photographs.
  5. A self-addressed return envelope large enough to hold an A4 size document."

Has anyone actually tried to mail anything to this PO Box 920?? I tried once in October 2014 using the Malaysian postal service and the envelope came back unopened with a "Rejected" stamp. I tried again recently this month (March 2015) using DHL and they were unable to find the address. It's really frustrating.
