3 weeks after sending papers for ROC - no NOA1, check not cashed

Hi guys,

So I think my application may have gone lost in the mail. Everyone in the June filers has had their NOAs and some even biometrics letters. My green card expires in early August, but I was so busy at work and traveling that I didn't get a chance to send in my i-751 until June 3. My husband mailed the package and for some reason, he decided not to overnight it but to send it with the slowest mail option, with no way to track or confirm that it's been received. We still haven't heard anything. Our check hasn't been cashed. We're applying at the cali service center. We called twice and the customer service reps (even the supervisors) said to wait 2 weeks the first time and when 2 weeks passed, they said we have to wait for 30 days and it would harm our case if we send the papers a second time. That sounds kinda silly as a threat, but I didn't do anything yet. Does anyone have experience with such delays?

Here's my issue with waiting: I leave the country on the day we hit the 30 day mark. Let's say I send a second application that day and overnight it. I shouldn't have any issues getting back into the country a week before my green card expires, right? I just have to hope that they don't ask me to show up for biometrics while I'm gone. I'm only gone for 20 days.

Any advice is appreciated.

it can take up to 4 weeks to get a NOA1. Watch the bank for the check to be cashed. Do NOT send a second package. That is a bad plan. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks guys, it's good to get some confirmation that I'm doing the right thing. It just seemed so confusing that everyone in the june filers, including guys who filed last week, already got NOAs and updates.

Wow. Day 24 - they cashed my check. Good thing I didn't send a second package. No NOAs or emails, but hey, it arrived. So relieved. I don't think I've ever been this glad to see money disappear from my account :D

Thanks everyone for your advice.
