I completed my DS-160 and my Applicant readiness form, I then went for my medical in London on the 11th of june, What now? its coming up on two weeks since my Medical, should I wait for a letter with my visa interview date or am I required to contact the London embassy?

I am being a little impatient, and thats mixed with a little paranoia, any help is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Tim

As long as London also have your casefile, it looks like you have everything needed for an appointment to be assigned. Try getting in touch via their online contact form to confirm that they have everything from you and also to confirm your appointment by email:

http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

I used this to confirm that they'd received everything and also to confirm my interview details - they responded the very next day.

They usually send a hard copy appointment letter (Packet 4) but if you ask nicely, they might also confirm the details via email. Just be sure to include the dates when the three items were submitted (DS-160, medical, Applicant Readiness) and also your LND number.

Hi Tim

I had my medical on 3rd June and I am still waiting for an interview date!

I emailed last week and they replied that no interview had been allocated yet and it can take up to six weeks for a letter with interview date!!!

Good luck

I got my interview letter 4 weeks after medical and my interview was 12 days from the date of the letter. The reason it takes a while is your medical has to be reviewed by a physician at the embassy before it is logged on the system and that takes up to 6 weeks, as soon as it has been reviewed and logged then an interview date will be assigned and mailed. I know it's hard cuz I am impatient also but you do just have to be patient lol

Wait is the answer and get used to it for when you start AoS. Just looked at your timeline and everything has been pretty quick so far. Last year we were waiting 6 months just for petition approval!

Exactly, we HAVE waited 6 months for petition approval! I laugh in the face of 4-6 weeks... ;)

There is no physician at the embassy. Nobody (inside the embassy) reviews the medical before logging that it has been received. Any delay is due to a massive pile of filing to do as things arrive.

That's just what the Knightsbridge doctors told me when I called them while I was waiting for my interview date to arrive

It took my fiancé a little over two weeks from the medical to get his interview letter. They had actually replied to him through email saying no interview date was assigned, but two days later received the letter in the mail. I think it's all varying with London and it's basically a luck of the draw when people a date assigned. Edited by Stef & Andrew
