*****I-131 Travel Document -- WHEN WILL I GET IT??*****

Hello VJers,

It's been just over two months since the DHS received my AOS package, and specifically the I-131 travel document. In your experience, how long did you have to wait until you received notification in the mail regarding the travel document? I am hoping to receive it relatively soon -- my sister just announced she is getting married at the end of August and I obviously would love to go back 'home' to witness her marriage... but, I'm also not holding my breath because we all know how things can go.

Most people get it within 60-90 days as an EAD/AP combo card. Mine took 65 days.

It's approximately 60-90 days from filing. You can also check https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do and key-in your I-131 receipt number, to see when the last update was made on your case.

Thanks! I've already checked status a few times and nothing has been updated/touched. All it says is they mailed me a letter, etc -- basically, the notice that they received my application for I-131. Would it be worth calling the USCIS number on the notice for the AP to get a little more information? I am over the 60 day mark at this point, so I know it could go another 30...

You can call of course, but normally those answering the calls at uscis will just tell you you're still within the processing time and they can't tell you anything more than that. But it shouldn't be long for you now. Most get an update before the 70th day from filing. For me though, I received notification on the 71st day.

Did any of you watch your USCIS status online while you were waiting for notification in the mail? If you did, did the approval or some other notification that the AP was on its way show up on the USCIS website? What did it say?

It normally does, but I guess USCIS messed up data entry on my case, so all of my cases (AOS, EAD, AP) showed up as "Case Not Found". EAD and AOS switched to "Card Production" when they got approved, but my AP is still in "Case Not Found" status, even though I received it over a year ago.

My receipt numbers worked, but they are not updated real time during Testing and Interview. Both my I-131 and I-175 jumped from Initial Review to Card Production. On the first day of Card Production, it says something like "We ordered production of your new card ..."
