Hello, I am Jack. First, I have to thank everyone who are reading this, your opinion will be a great help to me.

I am the beneficiary of my i-751. I granted my conditional green card since 10/2012. One month from now, I am going to apply my i-751.

My conditional green card was granted through K-1 visa. ( I married on 01/2012 until now.) However, I never be interviewed when I applied for my conditional green card (I-485). Is it a must for me to be interviewed when I applied for i-751?

Also, in this 2 years, I am a full-time student and my wife is a house-wife. (she took classes at college sometimes.) Both of us are 22 years old now. Our living are relied on around $2000 sent from oversea family. I used those money mainly on college tuition and utility bills. That's why we do not have a lot of joint asset. All we have are a joint saving account at BoA. and she has one credit card at citibank under my account. (Not commonly use it , usually I paid for everything.) Of course, as both of us go to school. We did not file tax. (No joint tax return form.) Is it enough to show joint financial ownership?

If not, I have a $4000 worth car that I can put her names on the title, but she do not have a driver license. Is that weird to her name on the title. Also, I can apply for a life insurance now ( Would it be too late?) and put her name on the beneficiary. (I did not do it because we are both 22 years old, kinda healthy, we seriously did not think about death.) Do I need to do that?

Thanks again for your opinion.

It is normal that you did not get an interview for your AOS. About 50% of K-1 adjusting status have one. Don't worry about that point.

For your ROC, try to list as much documents that will prove that you both live together and that you have joint finances. The joint BoA account is good, you should print 2 years of statements (one every 3 months for example), joint credit card is good too, same thing for the statements if there are both your names on it.

Do you have any bills with both your names on it?

Any joint health insurances?

What important mails do you receive that have both your names on it?

Any lease?

Your case may be a little weak so you should also think about asking friends to write some affidavits for you (2 at the least).

They want 2 years of proofs that you have a shared life. Recent proofs won't be enough.

Thanks for your reply, didopage.

The situation is, I do not have health insurance (too expensive to afford), my wife has her cook county care card. However, if a life insurance is needed, I can apply for one now. And, I can add her name to my car title. I just wonder if it is necessary? Also, as the money from oversea was sent to my account, my wife has no income at all. Hence, in this two years, she did not use a lot of money. Most of the money we spend were on my personal bank account. Her card barely has transaction. Is it good to make copies of these 2 years of the our bank account transactions to USCIS?

We are together everyday, so we have plenty of photos of our daily life and a lease with both of our names. In this two years, we spend our honeymoon and vacation at Orlando twice. Air tickets, pictures, hotel booking records can be provided.

About the utility bills, they are all on my name, but some of the bill she pays on her card sometime. For example, like internet. Although the account on my name, the bills were paid by her debit card sometimes.

About affidavits, I have my landlord and at least two store owner in my neighborhood can prove that we live together. They were seeing us walking to grocery one or two week once. As I am a talkative person, hence those store owners know me a lot, but my wife dose not speak much English and she is very shy. That's why they usually do not talk a lot. But I think it will be fine, as long as they saw us together all the time. Right?

Thanks again and hope can hear more opinions soon.

Anything you apply/ occur too recently to your ROC windows time (insurances, car title...), will not be considered as persuasive evidences. But they are better than nothing. By the way, you don't need driver license to have joint name on car titles. In USCIS POV, it looks like you are trying to cook bona fide evidences up, they need 2 years spanning evidences. Things you can do:

1. Leases (old and current.) If you want affidavits, please have them notarized. Otherwise, they are just statements and everyone can make those forms.

2. Tax transcripts. Please go to http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript to print your transcripts.

3. Bank statements, which have her name on. Send one for every 3 months as didopage advised.

4. Your driver license and her ID card, which show same residence address.

5. Any second evidences, pictures tickets or anything you can find.

On your head letter, explain why you don't have many evidences straightforward, don't try to have any evidences now because they will raise red flag. I received RFE (too recent docs even > 6months but still recent to them, older lease...) for my I-751 and we don't have any banking activities but we got approved. So hopefully my post could help you something. Good luck.

Do you have the envelopes of mailings to each of you over time? might be cards received from family or friends that you tucked back in the envelope and saved?

You should only need a biometrics appointment for your I-751 petition.

Here is the list of documents we submitted for our I-751 in February and we were approved with these in May:

I-751

Fee payment

Copy of conditional green card

Joint property lease

2011 and 2012 tax return (not transcript)

1 month, most recent joint checking/savings account statement

1 month, most recent joint credit card statement

1 month most recent joint online investment account statement

Copy joint auto title, registration, insurance

Copies of both driver license at the property lease address, indicating that is where we originally settled and never moved (don't know if that matters, but stability can't hurt)

Copy of my (USC) voter registration at that address

I am curious what circumstances would require more than this.

Thanks for your question, Caryh. The situation is, My family and My wife family live in oversea and they might not like us to marry. Hence, none of them sent us a mail, even in Christmas. I occasionally called them through internet phone service, but it is no record can prove that. However, i do got some letter from the college with her name and my name (Names are in separate letter, but we go to the same college) to our address. Does it help?

To BBCC, thanks for your checklist of your packet. However, the problem is, I ain't got so many "joint stuff" as you do. All i got is just a joint saving account, a joint credit card and a joint property lease. Like you, we did not move anywhere. Also, my wife ain't driving (No license), so I did not put her name on the car and insurance either. (It makes sense to do that, right?)

In fact, now I am thing, is it good to provide all of our account transaction in this 2 years to USCIS? I have 2 credit card, 2 checking and 1 joint saving. My wife have one checking and one joint saving only. I know it is going to be very large volume of information. However, Will it be useful to prove we share our wealth and living. Because when the month the i spend pay electric bills, she did not pay it. That's why usually her account is very inactive (not many transaction), because I take care most of the spending.

Any ideas for me??? Thanks a lot!!!

The letters do not need to be addressed to you both, some to her and some to you work. They show you are living at the same location, even when one comes to her and another to you. Its small evidence, but lots of little pieces can build the big picture. I hope you saved the envelopes, because unless the actual letters contain your address and are dated, they won't do you much good.

I can't see phone call records being much use. Unless it was records of you two always calling and texting each other on your cell phones.

Sorry your family doesn't approve of your marriage. That has to suck.
