Just curious - does anyone know what it's like to get married at one of those cheesy Vegas wedding chapels?

Sounds like it would be quick and not very expensive, but definitely more memorable than going the courthouse route!

The Pittsburgh temple is also known to do weddings (and receptions) if you're interested in combining religious and civil.

We've got our choice of Hindu temples here in Queens so will probably get married here but don't know how much planning time we will have before K's visa expires and how much lead time the temples require, also by the time K gets here and we are settled in an apartment money will *definitely* be an issue - it will probably be a very small wedding. I was joking about Vegas but actually am a little curious, lol...

Well, taking into account the combined honeymoon/wedding angle it's fairly cheap IF you go in the offseason...June through August I believe, though I could be wrong.

PS....If you're in the Nevada desert in the summer do NOT wear black clothing outdoors during the day.

I got married in the Little White Chapel about 15 years ago. They have different ceremonies you could select from.

I got married in Vegas -- loved it!

We did it in Little Church of the West which is a little church in a cluster of pine trees just south of the Mandalay Bay -- very cute and kind of away from the strip. The whole ceremony only cost $200 and included flowers. Considering we won about $800 in total that weekend it worked out well.

Hi

We got married in Vegas and it was a blast. Went to the Lily Of The Valley Ministries not far from the Court House. Cost was $45 with a witness, if you want pictures on a CD its a bit more. The Pastor was a very nice woman. the place was a bit cheesy. But all in all a great day.
