I could swear this was Monday the way things are going here at work today. :P

The front desk girl is off today because she went to the sentencing of her brother in law who was put in jail because of some domestic thing involving alcohol and a gun. I don't know what happened but his kids and wife were at home and I know there were broken windows and what a nightmare!! What I don't understand is why the family wants him back at home. I will never understand some people.

The back-up for the front desk is out today because she "sprained" her ankle over the weekend. She never saw a doctor so who knows, it could be worse than a sprain, but she was in yesterday hobbling around on crutches.

Soooo... with no back-up around, that means I get to answer the phones all day and do invoicing! Wheeee!!! not! :P

My supervisor and I were supposed to go out to lunch today with a customer of ours but we had to cancel and reschedule for another time.

Oh well.

At least the sun is out and my fiance is back home safe, though I've yet to hear his voice!

Oh yeah, my arms ache from the stupid vaccination shots. Hep A and Hep B. The lady thought it would be a good idea to give me one in each arm, so instead of having on sore arm, both are sore. :P

Alright, that's enough whining for now.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

When Amed first got here, we got him signed up with a secure credit card with Bank of America. He had to put a $300 deposit in as collateral, and they said that after a year, if his card had been paid regularly, his deposit would be refunded. Well, it's only been 8 months, and he got a $300 check in the mail yesterday! His available credit has been raised as well, and he gets pre-screened offers for credit cards all the time. However, the trick is that he bought like $30 worth of stuff on his card, paid it within a week, and never had any interest add up.

they sent me one of those offers "add a person to your acct for no annual fee for 1 yr" so I did, not knowing whether they'd accept it or not. It's a separate card # but tied to my acct, so if he doesn't pay it, I'm responsible... It shouldn't be difficult for you if you have an existing acct w/ them.

Noura did you ask if they will report to the credit agencies in HIS name also? That is a problem we ran into when establishing Mohammed's credit. Like Sear's would give him a card and add his name to the account, but not report under his SS number.

His first card was First Premiere with a $250 limit, the next card, Capitol One, came with a $500 limit and now up to $1000. Finally AmEX invited him to a card of theirs. You have to make sure they will be reporting his name also to the 3 credit agencies for it to help him.

Hubby just called. He go the translation from the ministry of law and was intending to go to the us embassy to have it authenticated when all of a sudden the woman told him he has to now take it BACK to the ministry of foreign affairs first!!! By the time he was done with that the embassy was closed. :crying:

So far the poor thing has gone to the ministry of marriage to get the certificate, then to the ministry of foreign affairs, then to the ministry of law, then back to the ministry of foreign affairs and insha Allah if he doesn't oversleep tomorrow it's on to the US Embassy. He's nervous about going to the embassy. He's going to shave and put a suit on and he kept asking me what do i say if they ask me this or this or that. I'm like, hon...you're just going there to get the translation authenticated, but he's convinced they'll give him the third degree like they did when we went there to get the no-objection statement. When we did that the woman gave us like 10 questions such as, where did you meet, what do you do for a living, ma'am is he forcing you to do this, etc. etc.

BLAHHHHH

I hate that place with a passion!!! Anyways hopefully he'll get it back tomorrow and it'll be on the Fed Ex plane tomorrow night so I can finally file the freakin' I130 and start a timeline!!!

Ah, yes, I remember it well . . . The Egyptian Two-Step . . . hubster said "don't come with me while going for translation" etc . . . I waited on him and then took the translated papers back to the embassy for the authentication.

Icy roads expected here in North Georgia tonight. Wish it was going to be bad enough to call off work, but I know that won't happen and I have to travel up into the mountains in the morning to visit people. UUGGGHHHH!!!! Sometimes I don't like my job much. And when the weather is like this I ask myself, "Why did I leave Miami?" This Miami native hates the cold weather.

I hate winter and I hate my apartment...it is so freezing in here...I hope that I can move soon...some nice and warm place...or at least a nicer apartment...with windows that actually retain heat instead of blowing in cold air...

I love the apartment I have now... we don't pay extra for heat! So this year, instead of freezing our butts off at night under about 10 blankets because heating oil is so expensive, we're comfortable with just two. But then again, I live in the Bronx :P

I'm so excited, because I have to work a 27-hour shift over the weekend I get tomorrow off! I can finally do all my errands!!!!! (I know this is a pathetic thing to be excited about, but when you work my hours having a little time to get your life in order is precious...)

Happy Wednesday everyone!
