All snow and ice here for day. But I have no excuse to miss work, I live (literally) right behind the office. Monday my car was covered in an inch of ice and it would have taken more time to thaw it than walk. So I skated across the parking lot to work.

What a mess today in Houston ..everything is shutting down because of ice on the roads. Today was the first day of fully being back at work for me since the holidays and no notice that work would be closed until a few miutes ago. I know I should be happy but its just going to make a more difficult rest of the week.

I think I am going back to bed now.

Good morning! It's a little chilly this morning, but it's bright and sunny. Looks like it's going to be a nice slow day. Noura just reminded me about the SS Card. Does anyone know if my husband should file for a new one that doesn't say not for work unless authorized? Maybe I should call them this morning. Anyway, Adil had an interview yesterday for a marketing company. Apparently it went really well and he got asked to come back in for the 2nd interview tomorrow. The only thing is that it's a 7 hour interview! What the heck could they be doing for 7 hours?! Anyway, I hope he does good because I think he really wants this job.

If he has his Green Card, then yup, he can go into the SS office with it and request a new card without the DHS authorization warning on it.

I wouldn't miss it much either Do you still have family here?

Hey.... I forgot to mention that Said also got the American Express credit card I ordered for him yesterday! :lol: I thought that was a riot.... I thought it would be good to establish credit in his name and have another bill for the AOS process.... I warned him abt actually using it tho!

The EAD proves DHS authorization, so use that in conjunction with the SS card, and you're good to go!

Hope everyone is having a good day. A little chilly here, about 45-50 degrees, which is 20 degrees higher than it has been. I'm kind of excited, actually!

The SS card he'll get will say something along the lines of "valid only with DHS authorization," which is the EAD.
