Follow the embassy instructions letter, have everything listed there and all is good.

As for letter of intent to marry, it has not been asked for in years, I still suggest bringing one but I am really wondering "why bother" as I have yet to read of anyone in over 3 years being asked for one. The processing is always evolving at the embassy.

The letter of intent is on the list, but they rarely ask for it. But on the other hand it is only one piece of paper, so bring it on the off chance they will.

Candy had one but they never asked for hers either.

The letter of intent is on what list? It is not listed in the embassy instruction letter.

We decided to err on the side of safety and brought it. We made a 3 ring binder with paper protectors to hold each item on the list. The interviewing officer didn't ask for the letter but Roda sure saw him look at it and read it as he flipped through her binder.

If they see it, they surely won't ask for it.

The GUIDE doesn't fit very well with USEM's instructions letter. For the embassy part of the process I don't recommend the guide on VJ

Thank you for all your responses. If in case they will ask it from me, does anybody know how long it usually takes for administrative processing for the documents lacking?

That's a question not easily answered and depends on what it is that needs to be corrected or resubmitted to USEM. You are working with governmental agencies and they work at their own pace.

Personal experience we had a 221(g) and had to have an updated NBI from some old cases that did not show on the original NBI. So, she had to fly back to Manila, (she was in Manila the week before and tried to submit the paperwork but NBI would do anything till they received the letter from USEM requesting an updated NBI with corrections - so more expense) present the paperwork, get a clean NBI which they sent to USEM (about a week) and then the CO reexamined our paperwork and we were approved a week later. This was before Yolanda expedites so your experience can be different.

Best recommendation is to having all your papers in order, read VJ to see what others faced and make any adjustments to eliminate their downfall happening to your process.

I'm sorry I can't be much more help. Good luck .2059.gif
