Hi all! I'm leaving for the States next Saturday, and I was looking for some excellent health insurance.. Any recommendations? I found this travel insurance from Patriot America to cover the first month or so while I settle: http://www.patriotamerica.net/ - does anyone know if this is any good?

I'm going to Alabama, if that helps? Is Blue Cross Blue Shield generally the standard solid health insurance company for when I begin to settle?

Thanks y'all! ;)

I was also wondering this, I can't be added to my wife's until the end of August. Also we would have to pay for the entire year and I'll probably have better insurance through my work once I have a job. I was wondering about the short term health insurers that would be cheaper than regular insurance but good for a catastrophic event. Also would I be able to get this before I arrive so that I am covered as soon as I get there? I am guessing my annual travel insurance will no longer apply since I will be resident even temporarily.
