In the interview with Arkansas journalist Roy Reed, Clinton says, “Do you remember that case where I represented that guy? It was a fascinating case. […] The guy was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl. Of course he claimed that he didn’t. All this stuff. He took a lie detector test. I had him take a polygraph, which he passed, which forever destroyed my faith in polygraphs (laughter).”

She goes on to describe how the man got off by taking a plea deal with time served in county jail.

The victim is now 52 and claims Clinton “took her through hell” by going to great lengths to discredit her.

Lawyers and cops have lots of interesting stories. No wonder so many end up cynics.

I have very little faith in the legal system.

The Rule of Law is the foundation of the US. That foundation does not become evident until you look outside the US and see the absence of "Due Process", "Probable Cause", "Illegal Search and Seizure" and being judged by a jury of one's peers.

To make a blanket statement that "So many lawyers and cops end up cynics" shows your lack of understanding of American justice. Especially when that justice is compared to countries that do not have the rule of law at their core. From my perspective and experience I can say definitively that most lawyers and cops are proud of the work they do and have done. Most all of them will tell you that it was never perfect, but when you consider the alternatives in other countries of the world there is nothing that comes closer to being fair. They are proud Americans and defenders of the law who put their lives on the line every day!

The US allows for a person charged with a crime to defend themselves in a court of law. They have the choice as to whether to choose a lawyer or not. The prosecutor gets to wear the white hat at the start of the trial, but that doesn't mean he or she will earn the continued privilege of wearing it as the case moves forward. Guilt and innocence in the US is supposed to be determined by a jury of one's peers. That's a bit unusual on the world stage as most other countries render that choice to a judge.

Hillary made the choice of defending a man who she believed to be guilty of raping a child. At that time she was not a prosecutor and had the choice to accept or reject that client. She chose to defend a man she thought was guilty. That's just her her job. The sick part of defending that man was caught on tape that presented her two faces for public scrutiny. As a woman who professes herself an advocate to woman's rights, she really stepped on her wanker on this one.

Complete piffle.

Go engage elsewhere. You obviously don't know any lawyers personally. Now stop quoting me.

Even though you appear to be a hopeless victim of british liberal brainwashing, there may be a glimmer of hope of recovery for you. But, that's just observations from a liberal lawyer so it wouldn't pass your piffle test.

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. At this point, what difference does it make?

I have a very close family member that ran for a statewide high profile office here. She ran as a Democrat but really has no real political leaning, because it's all about whatever is in their own best interest. I have seen close up inside polotics. If you knew what soulless uncaring self serving people most politicians are you would be mortified.
