Rida and I have this discussion bc I have an indoor dog. His only concern is if the dog will like him. He has never had a dog so it will be new to him. As for the vacuum, there is one. I use a vacuum on my horses and boy does it keep them clean. Cuts bathing and grooming down. Start the dog early so they aren't scared.

DH hates dogs, cats, animals in general. You know who would be taking care of a dog if we had one dont you???? I dont want to do that again!

I have had dogs.... my favorite was a austrailian shepard / lab mix... her name was trouble (my two year old named her) she was a huge dog and didnt know it. My girls used her to sleep on ect, she was a huge baby. She was 14 and had a stroke and my mom took her in the middle of the night to the vet and had her put to sleep.

We also had Rebel, she was a terrier mix too... she use to watch mice in my mom's old house and not chase them. GO GET EM...lol

The most protective was my Sheltie Mandie. She got between me and a huge dog who jumped a fence and was bit up protecting me and my daughter when she was in the front pack strapped to me. She also took my hand in her mouth when i went to spank DD, and once took after my neighbor when he came into the backyard and DD was in the backyard too... I have never seen a man jump over a fence so fast...

I use to bath my dogs every week... I used fresh and clean then the fresh and clean cologne... they smell good then.

How does your spouse feel about dogs? Would he allow one in the home? If he initially thought he could accept your dog but got here and could not, what would you do?

I saw many young guys with dogs on the beaches in Algerie. I am not sure if they actually had them in their homes thou. My husband and I are not dog or cat kinda people, so this has not been a issue for us. I definately donnot want any hairy animals in my home. I never have. I raised with the thinking, animals lived in shacks in the back of the house. Not in the house. I had birds as a child. Even if dogs were not frowned upon in the home, I know I would not want one.

If I had a bigger home, with a large yard... for my children then maybe I would consider a small not too much shedding type of dog. My husband says he has no problems with animals in the house, just not cats (since the pee smells too bad) but prefers the animals not in the area where we sleep, eat and pray. And with I agree.
