If you didn't lump everyone into the same group just because they call themselves Democrats (or for that matter Republicans) you wouldn't be surprised that not all candidates offer the same view point on each and every issue. Some candidates are ignorant on some subjects, some are ignorant on a lot of subjects. Being a Democrat doesn't automatically make you a saint, or sinner. Liberal (with the capital L) views embrace a broad spectrum of ideas and not every self appointed Democrat is able to grasp each and every one of those ideas. I am not sure how the US system differs from the UK system in terms of towing the party line and party sanctions for not doing so, but even in the UK, not every MP does.


Calling the GOP racist is not helpful or useful because it is not accurate. Such ignorance should be a negative tick against this candidate.
