Hi,

For the AOS process, is there any evidence or proof of relationship required other than the marriage certificate?

Do you need to include photos from the wedding or evidence of joint finances or anything along those lines?

Will it be an issue that I intend to keep my maiden name?

Thank you!

No, You don't have to provide evidence for bona-fide marriage as your relationship has been vetted at k-1 stage. You take these evidences to AOS interview if you will have one.

And no I don't think that keeping your maiden name will be an issue. Good luck.

February 28- AOS package sent. ( I-130, I-485, I-765)

If you have an interview it will do no harm to bring along what you have. They cannot expect too much if you have only lived together a few months.

Keep evidence for ROC though, so make a folder or whatever and start now by every now and again putting something aside such as joint bank statements, flights together, anything with both names on it. This will show you have had these in place for a while and not just 2 weeks before you file for ROC. A long way off i know but thats what I have. Joint house ownership from before we got married, ditto bank account. City taxes etc in both names, gas and elec bill in both names and so on. Every 6 months or so I will make a copy and stash them away for ROC.

The application needs nothing but the marriage certificate as proof of marriage/relationship. But do start organizing joint things, photos, as you can so you can take some things to your interview (if you have one). You can get cars listed in both names, bank account, credit cards, bills...whatever works for you. Make it a priority to do so as soon as possible so you have a few things by interview. Then as Nobbie said, continue to save your "joint or co-mingling" proofs tucked away for Removing Conditions so you have a two year history of various pieces of evidence.

I did not change my name. It isn't even my maiden name, but my married name from my first marriage. We never had any issues, requests for more evidence, or interview for AOS or ROC. I will say I was keenly alert up until citizenship application to saving anything that listed both names since getting both names on things like utility bills is a challenge and didn't work our for us. There's plenty we managed without bills or our house in both names.

Just went for my interview, and we took our wedding album with us, the CO took some of our pictures in the album and took my EAD. You might want to take some pictures with you, plus she asked about the address we living at, just to know if we stay together. We had a daughter together and expecting another one... She asked about my how many times I've been in the US etc.... Good luck

i kept my maiden name, and it was never even questioned during the interview. as for the relationship evidence in the AOS packet, it's possible that we went overboard, but here's what we included:

- flight itineraries for flights we did together

- joint car registration

- joint leases

- driver licenses showing residency at same address

- 15 - 20 photos of us and our families

- company AD&D policies listing each other as beneficiary

- joint health, dental and vision insurance
