Hi everyone, we had our green card interview before yesterday, and the lawyer said that everything was fine. The offi cer started asking about the application we submitted to see if all the questions would still match with our answers.

No problems, everything matched.

I have two red flags, I came in the country with a B2 visa and got married after 160 days from my entry . The second one is my husband and I have an age gap, he is 25 years older than me.

I thought, that the immigration officer might would sticky with the fact that I got married under a non - immigrant visa, but no . He brought up the fact that what would we have in common since we are 25 years apart from age. Then what I said was, " the age difference only works in our favor, I ve never been so happy as Im with my husband right now, and this green card is only a detail for me, Im here only because of him . "

Im from Brazil, I used to work on the brazilian oil offshore field as a translator. My husband was my master, thats how we met . Back in brazil, I was making a very good ammount a money working on that field, not that I was struggling and starving and seen my actual husband as a green card gateway . No . I love him with all my soul and heart.

Then he asked my husband " this is your third marriage. Why would you think it is going to work with a 25 years younger woman ? " to what my hubby answered : " she is eager, she makes me happy in every single way, she is mature and responsible for her age, and age doesnt really matter for us . " And he said more things, but I cant remember now.

I brought to the interview aprox, 100 pictures of he and I together, pictures of our family and his relatives together, bills on our both names, 2013 joint filed taxes, my car financed, house and vehicle insurance, everything .

Well, we answered all the questions, and we brought all the proofs. No approval on the spot, he said, we would hear something within 2 weeks.

Then our attorney said, that if we havent been approved he would have given us a hint . And everything else is just fine.

But, Im still shaking on my boots and completely restless.

But now people I wanna ask you, what you guys think ? Has everyone been through similar situation ?

I swear for my parents soul, I AM NOT A GREEN CARD DIGGER !!!! Or a gold digger !!! Im here in this country, I left my family, my good career and everything I knew for 24 years of my life because I truly love my husband, and I cant live my life without him . I ve never met a man like him before, he is the kindest, gentle, nicest, I ever seen !!! The green card for me is only a condition. Not more than that .

And before any judgemental, insolent, stupid person who is thinking about to comment something to bring me more down, I tell you, you dont know me, you dont know what is inside my husband and I hearts. Please have compassion for other s people suffering .

Thank you guys .

You're actually here with scores of people who are going through or went through the same thing you're going through. You're among friends. Sounds like they didn't even grill you you too hard. Our examiner had me stuttering and shaking in my boots! I was sure I had flunked it, but we were quickly approved. Surely, just based on what you've said here, you're going to be fine. Ultimately, most are. I am 20 years older than my wife; this might be something that makes them suspicious, but there are lots and lots of big age gaps on marriages, going through this system.

I remember the terrible agony of suspense. Most likely we'll be celebrating with you soon.

We didn't get approved on the spot either. Our attorney and IO said it may take a few weeks or months to receive a decision. Turns out we were approved the following day and my wife received her green card a week later. Based on what you stated, I think you will get good news soon. Good luck!
