New Passport or Old?

My fiancee's passport expires January 25, 2015. Her interview is scheduled for July 18. She has ordered a new passport which

will be ready on July 02. We used her old passport number to schedule her interview appointment and for the DS-160.

She is planning on taking her old passport to her medical. Will it be a problem if she used her new passport for the interview?

She would bring both just to verify the old and new to the consular officer.

The new passport should be used for the medical. SLEC will not accept cancelled passports.

Bring both passports to the interview for verification. The embassy will accept her new passport.

Sorry, I forgot to add that her old passport will not be cancelled until she gets the new one on July 02.

She will have her medical prior to getting her new passport. Would this be an issue?

The SLEC stamp should be on the new passport.

When you apply for a new passport, DFA automatically cancels the old one by punching holes on them.

I did not realize that SLEC puts a stamp in the passport. What does the stamp indicate?

Thanks for the info.

SLEC stamp contains 2 signatures and date of the medical exam.

I was not aware of the stamp. Thank you very much for the heads up

The number on the passport will forever be the same, even on the new passport, take both as a precaution, ( for peace of mind) but give them the new passport only.

Not for Philippines. When we get a new passport, it will have a new passport number.

If you have the new passport before the medical you have to use it, the old one will not be valid.

Bring both to the interview
