Attention January-February Filers at Texas Center: A Discussion for You.

My fiancee and I filed for our K-1 Visa in February (around the 27th) and we are at the Texas Service Center for processing (unfortunately, since the California Center seems to be on top of things unlike Texas).

At the time of our filing, people were raving about how quickly the K-1 Visas were processing. But, now I check the Igor's List (since people have referred me to this a lot) and also the VisaJourney's estimation (which I am aware is inaccurate, but still it is a reference).

It has been around four months now since we have received our NOA1. This is approaching the five-month goal that they usually deliver by.

Now I know some of you may tell me to just be patient, but I am well aware that the process can last up to five months (and longer in unfortunate cases).

But, I simply want to bring up the discussion for January-February filers and their personal progress to get a feel for how others are doing. Especially since there was a lot of positive comments about the speed of the process around the time I filed and now how those expectations weren't lived up to.

So, who of you are still waiting and who has had any progress?

TO THE MODS: I am uncertain if this is the proper place to post this, so feel free to move my post to the proper forums and I apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

There's a section on the forums dedicated to visas that are currently in processing and there are posts specifically for January and February filers... Either way, I'm currently waiting. I'm a little ahead of you but not by much.

I got a notice today that they tried to send me something but it was post marked undeliverable. I confirmed my address and talked with my mail people so hopefully I'll get what ever it was in a couple days. My USCIS receipt still says Initial Review.

There are people who have been processed, whether it's a different service center or circumstance, so I think it's well worth trying to get faster processing.

Jameswhunt,

My page still says Initial Review as well. I am afraid that there has been an issue with my mail as well now that you say this...

My mailing address is rejected by some for some reason and it doesn't say it is a valid address on some online forms when I fill them. So, this does worry me.

How do I check to see if something has been mailed to me but not delivered? And is there anyone I can contact about the status of my K-1 to be sure there wasn't a mistake?

I did sign up for text, email, and physical mail notification. It'd be a bit odd if all three failed.

As long as you have the notifications set up I think you're fine. They updated my case online stating that they tried to mail something and it was not able to be delivered. The status still says Initial Review though. I got an e-mail and text message alerting me that there was an update.

I'm not really sure how to check the mail issue. Honestly I don't know what's wrong with my address. I just moved here recently and have received a couple pieces of mail so it should be okay! Haha...

Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the USCIS Service Centers forum -- topic involves a discussion of processing-times rather than a K-1 process issue. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi there! We're also waiting dor our NOA2 since Feb.4th,we got RFE,sent them back already few days ago and now waiting time continuing, hope we will hear smth soon. Yeah you're right it's really hard and frustrated to wait for so long time, but what we can do? We tried all posible ways with my fiance,he called for an Expedite on April, they approved it and gave 45 days to make a decision, but nothing happened, then after that he asked his senator for help to find out what's going on with our petition,so after he make an inquiry to his repres. It took three weeks till we got RFE,who knows maybe it helped a bit and they finally started reviewing our papers! So now when we sent evidences which they need-hope to get our NOA2 very soon:)

Any way guys cheer up,we all will get our approval sooner or later,it's just a matter of time!

Best of luck, and can't wait to hear from all of us abt our approval!

Hi there! Just wondering if you guys registered with the US Postal service? I found the following on the USCIS website about changing address: 'Any notices or documents USCIS sends to you are considered official Government mail. If your name is not on the mailbox and/or registered with the local U.S. Postal Service Office, the Postal Service may not deliver official Government mail to you. Please remember to register your name and address with the local post office and to put your name on your mailbox.'

I don't know if that will help at all, just a suggestion :)
