Can anyone tell me the difference in these two numbers?

I am still waiting on both.

I've read about people calling a phone number to get one or both of these numbers, which phone number is that? I am filing DCF London.

Cheers

When people file a petition in the US with USCIS, they are given a USCIS case number starting with three letters representing the service center that processes it EACxxxxxxxx etc.

Once the petition is approved, USCIS is finished with you and hands off the file to the Dept of State which is over the NVC, the embassy and visa issuance. So the DOS gives you a new case number starting with three letters representing the consulate that will issue the visa. LNDxxxxxxxxx would be a London case number.

You didn't get a USCIS case number because you didn't file in the US. When the USCIS office branch in London approves your petition, they will hand off to the actual consulate immigrant visa unit. The consulate/embassy will send a letter saying they got your approved petition, tell you your case number (starts with LND), and tell you to begin the visa application.

Edit to add:

Your instructions for the visa application http://london.usembassy.gov/ivprocess.html

Be sure and read the right column which says wait for your letter before continuing with these instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

Hello,

I was denied a Visa today at my interview, and have been told I need to get a medical. I need a case number in order to schedule an appointment, but this was not included on the documentation given to me today - I tried calling the embassy but they just told me to use the contact form for immigration. Can anyone help!?
