Lynne and I arrived outside the USCIS building in Fern Street just as Twila and Hicham (tnh9479) were leaving. We got a chance to say hello and congratulate them on a successful interview.

Twila has described the West Palm office precisely (see this topic), so I won't repeat it. Thanks Twila!!

We were called through at exactly 10:00 am, our appointment time, by Ms Blouin. She came across as being friendly but business-like. She asked to see:

- My driver's license

- My naturalization certificate

- Lynne's EAD card

- Lynne's passport

- Lynne's birth certificate

- Original certified marriage certificate

- Original employment letter (updated since the I-134 submission)

- Wedding photos (we had hundreds to choose from, but only took 2 with us - she seemed content with them)

- "Relationship" documents - we showed her health insurance, credit card, and house ownership items. She kept copies of everything that we showed her. I think we could easily have shown her more than that, and he would have taken it, but 10 or so items was enough to satisfy her.

She wasn't interested in seeing original tax submissions or W2s.

Also, she had no questions about vaccinations! Note that we, like Twila and Hicham, DID NOT submit an I-693 vaccination supplement with the I-485. I firmly believe that this form is only needed if you haven't completed your vaccination requirements in your home country prior to the K-1 medical. Lynne had completed hers in the UK, and it was most likely marked as such on the DS-3025 (we don't have a copy so we don't know this for a fact).

She asked Lynne a few direct questions related to the I-485 (parents names, when she last entered the USA, are you a terrorist, will you practice polygamy, etc). She also asked about how and when we met. That seemed to interest her a lot!

Then she said that our AOS was approved but we have to wait until the FBI name check comes back before the final approval will go through. There was no indication of how long that will take, so we'll just have to sit back and wait. Consequently, she didn't keep Lynne's EAD card or AP documents.

Now we have to wait for the letter in the mail !!

We both felt a wave of relief after she gave us the verbal. Now we know that Lynne won't get thrown out of the country!!

Best of luck to all still to go through the process.

George

Hi George:

Glad to hear it went as smoothly as it did on Fern Street.

Years ago, I had to deal with the "west palm beach crew" and although there were 1 or 2 really nice people, there were 3 others I had to deal with that weren't as pleasant.

Liam and I haven't received any additional action after his biometrics on 22 Feb (except to say that our processing time will be less than the stated time of 120-180 days because the preliminary review has already been completed.)

I've notice that is a pretty standard statement for those of us being processed directly from the Missouri Service Center, so for now we are just waiting.

Good luck to both of you for now and the future.

Lynn

 Congrats to George and Lynne! Hopefully the name check will be back in no time!

Twila and Hicham

Also...I find it funny we went for biometrics on the same day, have the interview on the same day, and my husband's namecheck came back before your wife's (especially since she is from the UK and my husband is from a Muslim country -- there is no rhyme or reason for this system).
