It sounds like your numbers are not matching in all parts of the form.

Do you have a copy of what you sent and can check it?

How many names you listed on Items 1-6? That woould the number you put on item 7. And whatever that number is, must also be the same number on Part 5 Item 1.

In my case, I am sponsoring both my parents - my Dad is the principal immigrant, so I checked "yes" on Item 1 and listed my Mom is on Item 2a. The number I put on Item 7 is "2", same in Part 5 Item 1.

Hi, my question is also about the AOS.

I am a USC and sponsoring my Mom (no other siblings). I have my family of 4 (including myself). My spouse and I are unemployed so my income does not qualify to sponor my Mom but my sister-in-law is willing to help and provide proof of income.

My question is, what form do I fill out and what form does my sister-in-law fill out?

How much does my sister-in-law have to make in order to help sponsor my Mom?

You both need to complete I-864.

Check out the Poverty Guidelines to see if her income qualifies.

So we both complete I-864 and not one I-864 and the other I-864A?

Also if using the proverty guidelines, what would be my sister-in-law household number? She is married, no kids. I have myself, my husband and 2 kids.

You could use either or. The Wiki recommends using I-864 for both, and I-864A for additional sponsor.

Her household number would be her+her Husband+sponsored immigrant/s = 3. Unless y'all live in the same address then y'all have to count each other and your family as dependents.

Thank you so much for your input. I just got my case#, invoiceID and have been checking online to see when I'm able to pay but in the meantime I just want to do a practice run so see what I know and not know so that I can gather the information and not waste any time.

You're welcome.

We are at the same stage now. Hopefully we'll get invoiced for the AOS soon.

Good luck!

As I am filling out my I-864, I am running into another road block. My husband and I filed our tax jointly for 2011, and 2012. However in 2013 he was unemployed (so as myself) and therefore we did not file any tax because no income. AOS request 3 years or tax transcript.

What are my options? Again, even if I have all 3 years or tax record my income is not enough to sponsor by Mom but my sister-in-law income alone can totally sponor my Mom and more.

i just started a new job and i make around 30,000.00 per year. it is a minimum wage job $8 /$12 hrs(over time) but i work 70 hrs per week so is that ok to be sponsor for two people? What i am saying is the rate i am getting paid and the hours i am working which is long so does it have negative side effect on my AOS that i am getting ready to file?? Please help.............................
