Does anyone know when is the exact date for the 2014, July oath ceremony in Houston ?

Thanks.

Houston holds oath ceremonies once per month.

Usually on the third Wednesday of the month, but sometimes on the fourth Wednesday.

There are usually around 2000 people being naturalized at each ceremony.

The ceremony is held at the M. O. Campbell Education Center in north Houston.

Here is a video of the event.

There are also special naturalization events held at other locations... there are usually held on Memorial Day, July 4th, etc.

Looks like I can't post the link to the video here... You can go to youtube and search for Houston naturalization ceremony.

For exact dates you can try calling the center and asking.

Thank you.

Go to USCIS website and under n400 search for Houston field office details. At the very bottom it should mention what is the oath frequency of this office. I presume they do weekly oaths. My DO is Dallas and they conduct oath ceremonies on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week.

Thank you all for the lightning fast replies. Makes my day.

July 23rd.

I am attending my oath ceremony on July 25th.

Does anybody know what we can bring in (phone, food, laptops, etc.)? Can family members come in later? I heard that it is long, like from 7am - 11am and I wouldn't wish to wake my baby early as well as interrupt his nap time.

Thank you

It depends where exactly you will have the oath and more importantly how many people (applicants) are attending. For an office such as LA where they normally have the number if attendees in thousands, it may take some time. Whereas for an office such as Dallas where the oath ceremony is conducted twice a week every week you will have 200-300 attendees.

My oath ceremony is on June 24 and my IO told me that I could bring family memebers or friends. She also said that it was going to take around 2 hours.

Just 2 people which should be ok but only I was asking if they can come in later after the applicant has been processed since that alone takes almost 2 hours with Houston's 1000-2000 applicants.

Hi, the address you listed is the address of the field office. I didn't know that they did oath ceremonies there. All the oath ceremonies I've heard of are done at the Campbell Education Center nearby on Aldine Bender Road.

Now, if you look at the field office's page below, you'll see that Houston holds monthly Judicial Ceremonies. Those are held at the Cambell center.

But the page also says that they hold Administrative Ceremonies on "rare occasions". So maybe you got scheduled for one of those.

The time also doesn't match the usual ceremony time, so I bet it is an administrative ceremony. I'd love to hear details when you're done.

I assume you didn't ask for a name change since that would require a judicial ceremony. The usual Houston ceremonies are quite impersonal and have 1500-2000 applicants at them, so maybe you'll have a nicer experience.

Good luck!

Well guys, as I said, the scheduled time for the oath ceremony was 1:30pm for today 8/26/2014 at 126 Northpoint Dr, Houston... I arrived early and I was called in for the ceremony at 1:32... a brief oath taking raising my hand and reply "I do" followed by surrendering my GC and signing some papers including my Citizenship certificate, about 1:38pm I was on my way out as a new american citizen, .... no finger printing, no interview, no test, etc maybe because it was an N600? My road ends here now...good luck to all of you. ;-) by the way, about 10 people ahead of my taking about 10 minutes each
