Is it true that the U.S. embassy in Santo Domingo closed secondary to the chikungunya epidemic? Has anyone heard of this? Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard anything about it, there is nothing in their facebook page either. I even confirmed my interview for next monday by phone. They did post this at their website

Important Notice: The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo kindly asks all visa applicants experiencing flu-like symptoms including fever, headaches, body aches, etc. to stay home until they are no longer ill. As soon as the person coming to visit the consular section recovers, please contact our Call Center to reschedule the interview for a more convenient date and time. To contact the Call Center you must dial 809-200-3232. There is no need to purchase a pin number.

It was closed for a couple of days because of the move to the new brand nice looking buildings, and it was informed in their website, facebook, and newspaper here.

I just got back from DR and I have the chikungunya virus. I flew back yesterday and last night I had fever and ache body. Is all good tho.

Thanks guys, i feel as of a truck ran me over. Fever, pain in everysingle joint in my SEXY body.

My wife was sad because I went to se here and our daughter and I got sick.

I told her, if I had to do it again. I WOULD. Y went to our 5 yrs old graduation, from Kindergarden.

Yes, they had a graduation party... Ripped off but oh well. All it matters is that we had fun and joy. God Bless a todos.
