My interview is also 2 days before yours. I am nervous as well, but my husband keeps saying "the interview is just a formality, they just want to see that we did infact get married, and are living together like the average couple"

I actually find this proccess easier then the K-1/K-2 proccess. First..I am already in the USA, Second..I married the love of my life, and I get to kiss his lips each and every day, and Third..This little stress, and worry is worth the lifetime of tomorrow's, love, laughter, and friendship I have with my husband. I can't wait to see how the future unfolds our lives together!

I finally got notice the other day that mine is on April 19.

Just wanting some encouragement i guess. Our AOS interview is April 12th and i am so nervous. This means so much.....guess i just need people to tell me to calm the heck down!!!

Hi...we just had our interview yesterday (my detailed "report" is at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5249) ...and although I did tend to "obsess" about everything up until the night before (which I wish I hadn't done so much), I didn't lose any sleep that night. Either we were ready or we weren't, and losing sleep about it wasn't going to change that!

Three main points of advice I would give would be:

1. Be as thorough as possible in gathering everything that is supposedly required to bring with you, making sure you have originals (especially for things you sent in with the AOS application that were only copies) and also having copies of everything so they can take those if they want. But be prepared to not really need everything you'll lug to the interview...some things they'll ask about and want to see, some things they'll ask about but not want to see, and some things they won't even mention! There doesn't seem to be any consistency in that between interviewers, so just have everything ready, just in case, but don't be surprised that you don't have to show everything you've brought (maybe there is an interviewer out there who will want to look at everything...I doubt it, but if so and if you get that person, then you'll be ready )

2. Only reply with yes, no, or whatever few words will answer a question. In other words, don't invite trouble! If they want you to elaborate on an answer, then do it (as minimally as possible). If you're not sure you understand a question, just say so and ask for clarification...it's no problem. But being "to the point" will ease your mind about what you should or shouldn't say, what will be enough or not enough...and it will prevent any possible "oops" moments when as soon as something comes out of your mouth you think to yourself "Oops, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that!" Sure, you don't want to seem like you're "withholding" information or evidence...but if you sufficiently answer the questions, that'll satisfy them.

3. RELAX...both before (hard to do, I know) and especially during the interview. You've got nothing to hide, right? Your marriage is real and legitimate, right? Then just look at this is a technicality, only a formality by an overly bureaucratic government and you're just helping them cross the t's and dot the i's. Trust me, you'll walk out of the interview thinking "I was so worried about THAT?!?!"

Be prepared...be calm...be happy

Ooh, our AOS interview is Aprill 11th at 11 o'clock. Spooky. :-) I am nervous, too. I am a little shaky at the moment just thinking about it. You're going to be fine, though and so am I. I will think of you on your day. Take a deep, happy breath when it's over! You'll be great!
