Just wanting some encouragement i guess. Our AOS interview is April 12th and i am so nervous. This means so much.....guess i just need people to tell me to calm the heck down!!! :D

5/02/08 Biometrics scheduled

5/02/08 Biometrics completed in 10 mins!

Woo Hoo....8/28/08 Recieved 10yr Greencard in mail, no approved email!! We are done!!!

Settle petal!! Our interview is 2 days before yours and I'm cool as a breeze. Relax! You'll be grand once you've all your paperwork in order - and there's loads of time to get that ready ;)

03.04.2009......Ordered Police Certificate for Visa Purposes from Local Garda Office (ordered over the phone)

03.05.2009......I-130 received at Embassy

03.06.2009......Received Police Cert

03.18.2009......I-130 Approved

09.10.2009......Medical Exam

09.23.2009......Embassy receives Notice of Readiness

10.13.2009......Received our interview date

10.29.2009......Successful interview!

11.5.2009........Visa received in post

11.7.2009........All the family flew to the US together :)

12.20.2009......Received Welcome to America letter

12.24.2009......10 year Greencard received in the mail

My Husband's interview is coming up on April 5th. But our formal wedding is on March 26th! So, in all the wedding stress, I haven't thought much about the AOS interview.... Though I have started compiling stuff.

- I bought a folder, sheet protectors, dividers and a photo album.

- I asked HR to give me a statement with my wage and hours and stuff.

- I started a folder on my computer of pictures that I want to get printed for the photo album.

All of our other paperwork is filed together, so its just a matter of organizing it into the binder.

I'm not really nervous, I'm actually kind of excited!! I like going through all of our "evidence." It's a reminder of our relationship and all we've been through thus far to be together today!

Just take it easy and start getting your "evidence" together. That should help with your nerves; feeling totally prepared should lower your stress level. Of course I say this now, but come April 1st or so, I'll probably be freaking out as well!!! Good luck!!

"Calm the heck down"!!!! There, I told you!!!! ha ha

I've said this a million times, but I'll say it again here..... you are going to be sooooooooooooooo surprised how little of the "stuff" you take with you to the interview that they are actually interested in seeing.

The AOS interview is really the easiest part of the whole process. Just make sure you have everything on the list that they have asked for, and you'll be in and out in 10 or 15 minutes.

The AOS interview, for me, was easy-peasy. Thanks to fellow VJ members who related their AOS interviews at my office, and others who gave advice I was organised and well-prepared. And having my husband there with me made me more relaxed.

The run up to the interview date has me harried, too. ;)

From one AOS interviewee to another, it helps to put yourself to something constructive. Maybe assembling some photos into a small album, which means looking through all your pictures and thinking back on all the places you've been and seen! Once everything is done, congratulate yourself on a very good job.

Sometimes you need to distract yourself, but as good advice was given to me: try to relax and take a deep breath. Many people experienced very easy interviews that lasted no more than 20-30 minutes. With your husband at your side and your complete package together, you'll be just fine.

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

in my humble oppion the AOS interview was a lot less stressful then the interview at the embassy for k1.

Aslong as your paperwork is in order and you have evidence you will do fine, Heck you can even screwup answering questions and still get approved, I know We did :):):):)

Relax, and overload them with evidence, then party when you get your approval letter/Email

P.s. check your email, we forgot and did not notice it until later.

Now that I think of it I thought her green card was a junk mail credit card offer lol

Lifting conditions

Oct 14th 08 ..... Mailed the I-751. Back in the system we go

Oct 18th 08 ..... NOA receipt date

Oct 20th 08 ..... Check has been cashed, waiting on the NOA1 and Biometrics appointment now.

Oct 24th 08 ..... NOA arrives in post.

Nov 13th 08 ..... Receive date for Bio-metrics in Atlanta.

Nov 28th 08 ..... Bio-metrics appointment.

Feb 18th 09 ..... Date of decision to remove conditions on permanent residency.

Feb 23rd 09 ..... Received notification on approval ( via snail mail ). Green card on order.

Feb 26th 09 ..... Card production ordered. Pleas wait 30 days ( as per case status on USCIS home page ).

Mar 7th 09 ....... My 10 yr green card arrives.

Apr 22nd 09 ..... Sons 10 yr green card finally arrives( after a nudge at VSC from the USCIS helpline)

Going to take a little break from the immigration stuff.

We took a certified copy and the original for their veiwing pleasure

But they never asked for it, go figure!

I can totally sympathize with the whole nerves bit! We have our interview March 24th, and I have a huge stack of papers to try and organize with me at work today. I too just want to make sure and have everything. My husband doesn't seem nervous at all, he just lets me do all the worrying :huh:
