Is there any way to bring my fiancé from Nigeria? Or do I have to go to Nigeria and marry and then file for his visa when I return to the US? Help

You can bring your fiancé to the US with fiancé(e) visa (K-1 visa) and if you choose get married in Nigeria then you will bring your spouse with a spousal visa ( IR-1/CR-1).

Hey tried to come here a year ago and was denied. While at the appointment in Abuja, they told him that he needed to file for a K-1 Visa instead of a tourist Visa. He hasn't tried again because he doesn't have the money to waste and was told once you get a denied Visa, it's harder to get a approval later. So what to do? I really don't want to go to Nigeria, but that seems to be the only way, is to marry there and then file for his green card when I return.

It is not easy to get a tourist visa especially from Nigeria. Even K-1 visa, as far as my knowledge, many members on VJ got denied and had to file a spousal visa to bring their significant others to the US. Make sure you front-load your petition since Nigeria fall into high fraud country for US visas.

What is VJ? What do you mean by front-load?

Let me say this again... you have to meet somewhere, anywhere in the world. You have to provide proof the two of you met. You have to do this prior to filing either a fiancé petition or a spousal petition. If you marry on the first visit it is highly unlikely your petition will be approved unless you can provide reams of proof of a real relationship. And you should plan on spending at least a month together. Nigeria is a very high fraud country and many people get denied for lack of proof of a real relationship.
