maybe a data error - for clarity - call in to the cgi/stanley helpdesk when they are open.

call #'s in that web portal.

I prefer the Guangzhou office, thinking they are tighter with the IV Unit.

There is no way to be "exact" as to when it will arrive. Keep in mind that it's being sent from Guangzhou, in Guangdong province so it must be transported from south China all the way to north China in Liaoning. The US Consulate uses EMS for transport which is similar to FedEx in the USA. EMS is quite efficient. So, from the date of mailing it would take anywhere from 2-5 days to Liaoning province door to door, depending on whether the recipent lives in a rural or urban location.

They stopped using EMS circa FEB 2013 and shifted over to CITIC BANK COURIER.

take a gander at the ustraveldocs.com/cn web portal when yer getting closer to making a profile there - study a bit about the document delivery coversheet.

once it's out the door - maybe 3 to 4 days. CITIC BANK COURIER is very efficient on this stuff.

Maybe sooner...

Citic Bank delivery service? The hell ya say! Most likely they hire another service called EMS to deliver physical papers and packages as the seventh largest bank in China didn't invent and man a whole new service altogether in a couple a months. Regardless who carries the package, it will be faster than the pony express and take 2-5 days door to door to Liaoning province.

i dont think citic bank does any deliveries, they ask you to choose a pickup location, one of the branches in your city. so i will have to go there and pick up my passport. :)

sorry - it's CITIC BANK COURIER.

The courier picks it up from Guangzhou IV Mailroom, and takes it to a CITIC Bank location near you.

EMS is not used at all.

Hey - you can believe me or no, I really not care. CITIC BANK COURIER was selected after so many problems with EMS non-deliveries.

This courier service, prior to getting the Guangzhou IV Contract - primarily moved paper between all of the CITIC bank locations.

I'm not saying it's good or bad - but it's different - and the process for getting the visa packet is different now that CITIC Bank is involved. You'll get a chance to be an interested 3rd party when that K-2 visa packet winds it's way back to her son later in the year, learning about the document delivery cover page at the cgi/stanley webportal over at ustraveldocs.com/cn

or not !

Just because China's Citic Bank is handling transactions and pickup locations is no evidence that they have a fleet of couriers moving documents and passports Darnell. As for believing, I would believe photo evidence of Citic Bank courier vehicles including logo accompanied by something other than generic references to the ustraveldocs website. It's pretty clear the US chose Citic bank to manage the shipment of documents and passports, but I've seen no evidence whatsoever that Citic Bank is using it's vast fleet of aircraft, trains, trucks, and bicycles to move things around.

My wife was interviewed on June 25th, visa issued on June 26th. We chose the CITIC bank by the American Consular office to pick it up since I was told that it was the main clearing house for all passports, which they then send to other branches in China. So in theory you should be able to receive the passport quicker. As of today July 3rd our notice says been its been received by the consular dept and is being prepared for delivery. Now Friday is a holiday so the best we can hope for is a delivery to the CITIC bank by Tuesday or Wednesday almost 14 days from issuance. (4 days were weekends and 1 holiday) I have to return to USA so my wife will have to wait in Guangzhou for another couple weeks before coming to USA. Good thing she has a friend there to stay with.
