*Need advice ASAP* El Salvador - Does my husband need an appointment at the embassy to get voluntary departure/bond paperwork signed

My husband left yesterday and is now in El Salvador, fulfilling his voluntary departure order, which said that he had to leave by 6/19. He was given paperwork from the DHS here that we were told could be filled out by an American agent at the San Salvador airport. This was not true. He also has a Notification of Departure of Alien (Bonded) that needs to be signed and processed.

Both he and I have called the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador and been hung up on by that automated system. I can't seem to get a live person on the line.

He is going to the embassy tomorrow morning to try to get this paperwork done. Does anyone know if he should cancel the trip? And if so, what can we do to get him an appointment? HELP!

3/2013 Mi amor was picked up by ICE
5/26/2013 Married
6/12/2013 NOA1
8/20/2013 Master Calendar Hearing postponed
10/1/2013 MCH postponed again due to shutdown! More time for USCIS to process I-130 before mi amor has to take VD.
12/24/2013 Case transferred to CSC (60 days is 2/22/14)
1/23/2014 USCIS transfer notice 2 back to NBC (Lee's Summit)
1/27-28 USCIS transfer notice 3, 4 & 5 - eventually lands in TSC
2/19/2014 New MCH hearing. Voluntary departure by June 19, 2014.
6/6/2014 Finally have the I-130 interview. Approved on the spot! NOA2
6/17/2014 Mi amor left to comply with voluntary departure order... :cry:

He originally entered illegally.

have you tried this # (703) 745-5476 desde los Estados Unidos, I have been calling because we are dealing with AOS doc, they actually have a good customer service.

03/14/2014—AOS invoice available and paid

03/17/2014—AOS cleared bank

03/18/2014—AOS shows Paid

03/21/2014—AOS Package sent to NVC overnight

03/24/2014—AOS Package delivered at NVC

03/24/2014—DS-261 Accepted

03/24/2014—IV Invoice available

03/25/2014—IV fee paid

03/26/2014—IV Package sent to NVC overnight

03/26/2014—AOS entered in the system

03/27/2014—IV Delivered at NVC

03/27/2014—DS-260 submitted

03/31/2014—IV entered in the system

04/01/2014—Corrected I-864 sent (I found out that I have put the wrong address in part 2)

Thank you. I'll be calling tonight. This has been a joke. He went on a Thursday and was told to come back on Friday. He went back and got there at 9:30am. He was told that they only sign the VD paperwork from 8-9am. ARGHHHH!
