I am not exactly sure where I should be posting this so I put it in general and hope it ends up where it needs to be.

My husbands Visa was finally issued and we are waiting for it to go to his Loomis Branch for pick up. They said it takes about five days. While we are waiting though I wanted to start preparing for Port Of Entry. Is there anything special we need to know? I know he needs his passport, his visa, and the sealed packet.

Also I recently moved. I know I have to file an i-865 for me and the other sponsor on the case. Should I overnight it or just send it regular post? Not sure how long it will take to get to the Texas PO Box and whether or not we need to spend the extra money. I sent in a change of address through a general inquiry to the US Consulate Montreal. Should my husband tell them at Port Of Entry the new address as well? Will this cause an issue since the old address is on all the paperwork? I am just so worried any help would be greatly appreciated. Also the 165 fee we cant pay until after he has an Alien number?

Lesson Learned (by me)

If you put in a different address in the ELIS system -

they'll never use it -

instead using the address in the DS-260

so

you'll need to get the address change handled all of the normal ways

plus

I highly recommend giving over a piece of paper with the address on it at the POE, carefully paperclipped inside the passport.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
