Can my husband get a SSN before his EAD arrives?

He is here on a B-2 visa. We have started the application process and he has had is biometric appointment done.

*Adjusting from B2 visa (2014)*

5-13: Applications Recieved (I130,I131,I765,I485) <Married on 4-16>

6-10: Biometrics Appointment Completed!

7-09: I-485 updated to Testing & Interview + Called USCIS to request expedited EAD card.

7-14,15: Proof for expedite reason requested & faxed the next day

7-16,18: Expedite request under review & EAD card in production! <expedite request success>

7-23, 24: EAD card shipped via USPS and recieved!

7-29: Applied for SS card in office.

8-6: SS card received!

10-16: Interview day!!!!

As a B2 visa holder, he is not eligible for SSN application (yet). He has to wait until he receives his EAD card.

06/20/2016 Biometric Appointment

05/07/2017 10-year Green card received

N-400

07/02/2018 Filed N-400 online

07/24/2018 Biometric Appointment

ya - sorry - K-1 is eligible within first 90 days past POE,

CR-1/IR-1 eligible but SAVE database not updated for 3 to 4 weeks after POE so can apply after

but

for his visa type he isn't eligible until have EAD card in hand.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
