I remember there being one of these in the K1 area so I think it might be helpful to have one in here too!

Basically, if you have received an RFE, comment here when you got it (how long after filing) and what the RFE was for (missing documents etc)

Or you can even comment if you are expecting an RFE, and come back later and tell us if you did or didn't get one ^^

I just think it would help people about to apply for AOS to make sure they will remember everything :)

I am expecting an RFE for an employer letter for my husband/sponsor. Will check back and let you guys know if I do or not!

Got RFE to prove husband's current income was current, dated 3 weeks after the original filing. Had him send it back and we both, erm... messed up a bit.

First off, he sent it via Ground rather than Overnight. Ok, it just takes a couple extra days.

But worse, and I'm only reading this randomly on the internet tonight, you are supposed to send back the ORIGINAL RFE letter and put it ON TOP of everything else. Well, we sent a copy of the RFE letter (legible and all), and it had a barcode on it and everything. Second, it is UNDER the cover letter. Cover letter states that it is a response to a request for evidence and lists enclosed papers, with all the appropriate numbers (receipt number, A#).

Now, someone please reassure me that this might just delay my case a bit (and by a bit, I mean... a week or two, not 6 months...)... and they won't just deny us outright. One option is to put everything together properly and send a second package, but I fear that might just confuse them. Thoughts?

EDIT: oops, wrong thread/section, I am adjusting from a student visa. But still, relevant to RFEs? I can't find a thread like this in the other section.
